Jeremy Irvine created fake showreel for War Horse

Dec 8 2012, 4:20am CST | by

Jeremy Irvine created a showreel of fake work to land his job in 'War Horse.'

The 22-year-old actor - who had his breakthrough role in the hit movie - became so obsessed to finally get a job he resorted to hiring cameras and filming the showreel before passing it off as real to agents.

He said: ''I was making show reels with my friend - this is basically how I got 'War Horse'. I spent a year making this four-minute thing, and I went around agents telling them it was professional work.

''Looking back, it's embarrassing, but I made lots of clips. I did a bit of 'King Lear,' I did a few other scenes from things with different costumes, and made it look as though I'd done a load of work!''

The star - who is dating singer Ellie Goulding - admits his fame has made it even harder for him to have a relationship and he says he was star struck on the set of his latest film 'Great Expectations.'

He said: ''Let's just say it wasn't easy to go on dates before all this [fame] and it sure isn't easy now.

''A lot of it is still guess work. Of course, walking onto a set with people like Ralph Fiennes [as Magwitch] and Helena Bonham Carter [as Miss Havisham], you are going to be a bit like, 'God, that's Helena Bonham Carter, you know?'

''I'm just this snotty-nosed little new kid. But you just try desperately not to think about it.''

The first trailer has arrived online for horror sequel The Woman In Black: Angel Of Death, in which the luckless Jeremy Irvine and Phoebe Fox descend upon Eel Marsh House… Having stood empty for years following the events of the first film, the terrifying house is now a shelter for evacuee children spirited away from London during the Second World War. However, they might have wished they’d taken their chances with the bombs, as Eel Marsh House isn’t the friendliest pl ...

THE WOMAN IN BLACK: ANGEL OF DEATH International Trailer Reveals More Creepy Bumps in the Night at the Eel Marsh House

Oct 22 2014 10:39am CDT | Source: Collider

Half the fun of The Woman in Black was seeing what Daniel Radcliffe could do post-Harry Potter so when The Woman in Black: Angel of Death was announced and Radcliffe wasn’t attached, I couldn’t help but think, what’s the point?  Woman in Black is a fine film, but there’s nothing particularly mind blowing about the Eel Marsh legend and, sure enough, the Woman in Black: Angel of Death trailers have failed to impress.  However, we just got a brand new international edition and it ...

The Woman in Black: Angel of Death won’t be out in time for Halloween this year, but its first trailer is. The horror sequel picks up about 40 years after 2012′s The Woman in Black, during the London Blitz of World War II. With nowhere else to turn, a group of schoolchildren are evacuated to the Eel Marsh House, which has lain empty for years. Surely there they’ll be safe, far away from the terrible bombs in the city. But this is a horr ...

Get a Jump Scare with New Woman in Black: Angel of Death Trailer

Oct 10 2014 10:26am CDT | Source: beyond hollywood

Yeah, I know, leading you into a scene (using a innocent kid, no less) and then throwing a jump scare at you with fancy quick cut editing is a bit of a cheat, but hey, it kind of works. Anyhoos. Take a gander at a new trailer for the Brit horror sequel “The Woman in Black: Angel of Death,” take a ganderers. I guess Harry Potter was wielding some weak magic, since he apparently didn’t manage to kill the old broad in the first movie after all. England, 1941 With London ...

New Teaser for THE WOMAN IN BLACK: ANGEL OF DEATH Introduces the Title Character

Oct 10 2014 9:35am CDT | Source: Collider

I remember being a little underwhelmed by The Woman in Black when I first saw it in 2012.  It was a well made movie, but fell firmly into the category of "not my thing" despite the fact that I'm a huge horror nut.  Most fans disagreed with me though and the movie made an impressive sum of money on a relatively small budget.  If you saw the ending of that film, it will come as no surprise that Daniel Radcliffe doesn't r ...
