Christopher Nolan would make 'extraordinary' Bond film

Nov 27 2012, 10:02am CST | by

'Skyfall' special effects supervisor Chris Corbould thinks 007 fan Christopher Nolan should helm the next James Bond film.

Christopher Nolan would make an ''extraordinary'' James Bond film.
'The Dark Knight Rises' and 'Skyfall' special effects supervisor Chris Corbould thinks the 42-year-old director is the perfect pick to spearhead the next 007 movie because he has a deep understanding of the British spy franchise.
The Oscar-winning special effects whiz told DigitalSpy.co.uk: ''Chris [Nolan] is a great fan of Bond films. We spend a lot of time analysing them, him interrogating me on why things were done in certain Bond films. I've done 13 Bonds, so I've got quite a history with them.
''I think he likes the way they're made, some better than others. The end part of the third act in 'Inception' was his little homage to Bond. I would love to see him do one. I think he would make an extraordinary Bond. Having seen 'Skyfall', that's a tough act to follow.''
Although fans and film industry insiders alike have championed self-confessed fan Christopher to helm the 24th Bond film, the director has remained coy about his future plans.
He has said in the past: ''That's very, very flattering. But I haven't figured out what I'm doing next'', adding in a different interview: ''It would have to be the right situation and the right time in their cycle of things.''

Meet 'Chibatman,' Japan's Real-Life Dark Knight

Aug 27 2014 3:04pm CDT | Source: yahoo

Unfortunately for those who prefer to confuse fantasy with reality, Gotham City is a fictional place, home to superhero (also fictional) who wears black on the outside, because that is what he feels on the inside. Chiba, on the other hand, an actual place (it’s a prefecture of Japan, east of Tokyo) that’s home to a would-be superhero (also real), whom the press and onlookers have dubbed “Chibatman” — and who looks very much l ...

Why So Serious? Warner Bros. Rules Out Funny Superhero Movies

Aug 27 2014 12:45pm CDT | Source: Slash Film

Years back, there was a real divide between DC and Marvel. DC was the stoic old guard, Marvel the young upstart. Despite the fact that the ’60s saw some incredibly wacky characters grace the pages of DC comics, the conception amongst comics fans, especially when modern comics fandom came of age in the ’80s and ’90s, was still that DC was the “serious” house and Marvel the playground. While it’s not a hard ...

INTERSTELLAR TV Spot Repurposes Old Trailer Footage to Remind You That This Movie Will Probably Be Good

Aug 26 2014 4:56pm CDT | Source: Collider

Warner Bros. has released a “new” Interstellar TV spot for writer/director Christopher Nolan’s upcoming sci-fi film.  The spot doesn’t actually contain any new footage, but instead just repurposes footage from the latest trailer in a new 60-second cut—and that’s fine by me.  Nolan usually does a fine job of keeping the major aspects of his films out of the trailers, but even The Dark Knight Rises ...

New ‘Interstellar’ IMAX TV Spot Looks Absolutely Stellar

Aug 26 2014 12:15pm CDT | Source: Slash Film

It almost seems a shame to post the new Interstellar IMAX TV spot here at /Film, because this is so obviously the kind of film that begs to be seen on the biggest screen possible. On the other hand, though, if sharing a dinky YouTube preview is what it takes to get people to see the full movie in a proper IMAX theater, then the net effect of that will be good. Besides, we admit, it’s just really hard to resist taking a peek at Chr ...

First TV Spot for Nolan's 'Interstellar' Dreams Big with Dylan Thomas

Aug 26 2014 10:30am CDT | Source: First Showing

"Do not go gentle into that good night..." That beautiful quote you hear Michael Caine repeating in this latest TV spot and the trailer for Christopher Nolan's Interstellar, starring Matthew McConaughey, is actually a beautiful poem by Dylan Thomas. Titled "Do not go gentle into that good night", Caine uses the lines about "rage, rage against the dying of the light" to inspire these astronauts to fight on and rage against the darknes ...

How Japanese Filmmaking, Especially Anime is the Most Educational Thing for an Aspiring Filmmaker

Aug 24 2014 7:39pm CDT | Source: movie pilot

Being the film geek of my school I’m always asked, “What’s your favorite movie?” or “What are your top ten movies?”, and my response is always “I’ll get back to you on that”. I’ve honestly been meaning to but it’s really hard to create a list of my favorite films when I’m constantly remembering more and more films that stuck out to me. However the most interesting question I’ve been asked is “What films inspire you?”. This is a question I’d really like to answer so I think I’ll try to. ...

Frank Miller “can’t watch” Batman films

Aug 21 2014 1:36am CDT | Source: Total Film

Frank Miller has been busy on the publicity trail for Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, and has revealed that he isn’t a fan of watching characters he has written for in other people's films, particularly in the case of Batman. With Miller’s influence writ large on Christopher Nolan’s Bat-series in particular, you could be forgiven for expecting the writer to be a fan, but apparently, nothing co ...

Frank Miller Can’t Even Watch Batman Movies

Aug 20 2014 3:00pm CDT | Source: slash film

For better or worse, Frank Miller helped define superheroes in the ’80s with his grim and often violent stories featuring Marvel’s Daredevil and DC’s Batman. His work on those books had an influence that is felt in comics and film today, 30 years after the publication of some of Miller’s work. The most recent run of Batman films, directed by Christopher Nolan, bore significant Miller influence, not least ...

The latest issue of Playboy has hit the stands which includes an interview with Frank Miller about his latest movie Sin City: A Dame To Kill For.The interview contains some interesting nuggets including Miller mentioning that Sin City almost never came to be as following Robocop 2, he was done with Hollywood.I came back from RoboCop 2 convinced that writing a screenplay was the equivalent of building a fire hydrant and then having dogs run around and piss on it ...
