Christopher Nolan would make 'extraordinary' Bond film

Nov 27 2012, 10:02am CST | by

'Skyfall' special effects supervisor Chris Corbould thinks 007 fan Christopher Nolan should helm the next James Bond film.

Christopher Nolan would make an ''extraordinary'' James Bond film.
'The Dark Knight Rises' and 'Skyfall' special effects supervisor Chris Corbould thinks the 42-year-old director is the perfect pick to spearhead the next 007 movie because he has a deep understanding of the British spy franchise.
The Oscar-winning special effects whiz told DigitalSpy.co.uk: ''Chris [Nolan] is a great fan of Bond films. We spend a lot of time analysing them, him interrogating me on why things were done in certain Bond films. I've done 13 Bonds, so I've got quite a history with them.
''I think he likes the way they're made, some better than others. The end part of the third act in 'Inception' was his little homage to Bond. I would love to see him do one. I think he would make an extraordinary Bond. Having seen 'Skyfall', that's a tough act to follow.''
Although fans and film industry insiders alike have championed self-confessed fan Christopher to helm the 24th Bond film, the director has remained coy about his future plans.
He has said in the past: ''That's very, very flattering. But I haven't figured out what I'm doing next'', adding in a different interview: ''It would have to be the right situation and the right time in their cycle of things.''

Nordling Reviews INTERSTELLAR!

Nov 4 2014 8:18pm CST | Source: aintitcool

Christopher Nolan's science fiction adventure frustrates as much as it awes. Read the full article on AICN Nordling here. So, INTERSTELLAR?  Short version – it’s alright. Wait, what?  It didn’t change the orbit of the planet?  Well, no.  Is it the ultimate cinematic experience? I’ll grant that it has some pretty amazing moments, especially in IMAX (although the lack of consistency with the aspect ratios is irritating.  I may see it again on ...

If not that, at least some crazy theories about relativity and gravity and how the universe works. To give you brain an extra spin, Nelson Carvajal has cooked up a video called ASTRO//SPLICE, sort of a mesmerizing five minute combination of ...

Nov 4 2014 2:22pm CST | Source: Variety

There are no bathrooms in outer space. That’s what the cast of “Interstellar” learned working on Christopher Nolan’s latest sci-fi epic, which premiered in New York on Monday night at the AMC Loews Lincoln Center. “We got steel kidneys, because there was a long time between pee breaks,” said Bill Irwin, who plays the voice... Hans Zimmer to Score ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ With Junkie XL

Nov 4 2014 10:30am CST | Source: Slash Film

Around this time last year, Hans Zimmer was telling press he saw “so many good reasons” not to do the score for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Even after he eventually came around, he admitted that he was struggling to give the new Batman his own sound, distinct from the one he’d created for Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight movies. But now it looks like he’s come up with a solution for the Batman v Superman score. The composer revealed in a recent interview that he’s bringing ...

Nov 4 2014 8:35am CST | Source: Collider

It’s almost time.  Interstellar opens on film in 70mm IMAX and 35mm IMAX tomorrow and then everywhere else on November 7th.  There are some questionable story components, but overall, Interstellar is wildly engaging and entertaining, and goes above and beyond in many respects, like with its visuals.  You want to feel like you’re visiting planets in another galaxy?  Interstellar can do that for you and it’s probably because of Chr ...

‘Interstellar’ Video Review – Visually Spectacular Thrills Give Way to Shoddy Melodrama and Sentimentality

Nov 4 2014 8:35am CST | Source: Slash Film

Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar is one of the most ambitious, visually spectacular films I’ve sen this year. But it’s also a film with some really deep problems. In many ways, it highlights Nolan’s best and worst tendencies: his penchant for intricate, convoluted stories, his tendency to elide character work to move the plot along, and his knack for breathtaking visuals. Hit the jump for my full video review of Interstellar. I discuss basic plot details about th ...

Video: How A Projectionist Prepares a 70mm IMAX Print of ‘Interstellar’

Nov 4 2014 7:00am CST | Source: slash film

Fort Lauderdale Florida’s AutoNation IMAX Theater Chief Projectionist Armando Mena recorded a video explaining how a 70mm print of Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar is prepared and projected. I don’t think many people realize just how big IMAX film really is, or how much work goes into projecting the 70mm film onto the huge IMAX screen. A few IMAX theaters I’ve visited have a room which lets you look into the projection room and see the huge IMAX film platter feeding ...
