Chris Pine: Rise of the Guardians is like Avengers for kids

Chris Pine says his new movie 'Rise of the Guardians' is like superhero action flick 'The Avengers' for children.

Chris Pine says 'Rise of the Guardians' is like 'The Avengers' for children.
The 'Star Trek' actor likened his latest project - Dreamworks' animated film about children's characters including Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy teaming up against the evil Boogeyman - to the hit superhero team-up movie.
Chris, 32, told Digital Spy: ''I think, credit to Bill Joyce for coming up with an idea which all of us wish we had, which is all these characters that our parents taught us about as children... The idea that they may know each other and are kind of like 'The Avengers' for children.
''I think it's a brilliant idea. Obviously, Santa was the big bearded man who gave me toys at Christmas. I loved the re-imagining. When I saw the original artwork of the 'naughty' and the 'nice', I just thought it was genius.''
'Rise of the Guardians' is based on a children's book by William Joyce and features the voices of Chris, Hugh Jackman, Alec Baldwin, Jude Law and Isla Fisher.
'The Avengers' - which united Marvel superheroes Iron Man, Thor, the Incredible Hulk and Captain America - was a box office hit in the summer, grossing more than $1 billion worldwide.
'Rise of the Guardians' is out on Friday (30.11.12).
