Russell Crowe got Hugh Jackman Wolverine part

Nov 23 2012, 10:01am CST | by

Russell Crowe has admitted he suggested Hugh Jackman would be the perfect fit for the part of Wolverine in 'X-Men'.

Russell Crowe got Hugh Jackman the role of Wolverine.
The 'Noah' star was initially targeted to portray the 'X-Men' character, but when he turned down the film, he suggested producer Bryan Singer spoke to the 'Real Steel' star instead.
He explained to the Grill Team on Australian radio station Triple M 104.9FM: ''Bryan Singer asked Rusty to do Wolverine, and he said, 'Nah mate I've just done 'Gladiator', it's not for me but you should look at this guy...' ''
Hugh is a big fan of Russell, both personally and professionally, and says he has learned a lot from his friend.
He said: ''He's a great guy in every way, I have so much time for him and to watch him work, everyone says he is a great actor, when you actually get to work with someone like that... He's that good when it matters, in that moment, in that close up tough moment, you just sit back and watch you know someone's got that confidence and is going to deliver. I learnt a lot from him.''
Hugh will next appear in James Mangold's sixth instalment of the 'X-Men' franchise, 'The Wolverine', in July 2013.

THE DEATH OF SUPERMAN LIVES; WHAT HAPPENED? Trailer Offers Amazing Glimpse Into What Could Have Been

Jul 25 2014 1:46pm CDT | Source: Collider

Screening Of Paramount Pictures' "Waiting For "Superman" - Arrivals
Superman Lives is one of the great (or not-so-great) lost movies of Hollywood.  Back in the mid-90’s Tim Burton came onboard the project alongside star Nicolas Cage and screenwriter Kevin Smith.  They actually got pretty far along in development (you’ve no doubt seen Cage’s infamous photo in the costume) before the whole thing fell apart.  Now, filmmaker Jon Schnepp is attempting to brave the waters and figure out what happened with his upcom ...

Hellboy 3: Epic Movie Sequels That Never Happened

Jul 21 2014 9:51am CDT | Source: movie pilot

Hellboy 3 isn't happening. It's sad, I know, but both actors and the director have confirmed that we won't get to see Big Red in action again. Hopefully a publicity stunt like the Aquaman deal but right now, it seems very, very unlikely. Anyway, we might as well get on with the post-mortem. What follows is Guillermo del Toro's idea for the movie. Hellboy was to finally come to terms with the fact that his destiny, his inevitable destiny, is to become the beast o ...

L.A.CONFIDENTIAL: The best neo-noir crime drama ever.

Jul 21 2014 9:08am CDT | Source: movie pilot

Director Curtis Hanson arrives at the wo
I had the good fortune of seeing L.A.Confidential for the fourth time last night, and I remain with my opinion that this is one of the finest American movies of the last fifty years. If nothing else, director and co-writer Curtis Hanson has turned an dense James Ellroy novel (who's enjambing attempts to make his fiction seem to the reader that they're actually in the mind of problematic crime fighters makes him unreadable)l into a ...

Rumor: Doomsday One of the Five Villains in BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE

Jul 10 2014 10:52am CDT | Source: Collider

Jeremy Irons Visits 'El Hormiguero' Tv Show
It's getting hard to keep up with all of the villains (and heroes) rumored to be participating in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.  Heck, it's hard enough keeping up with the rumors abut who wrote which version of a fake script that all of this info may or may not be coming from.  And now there are fresh rumors that Doomsday will be making an appearance in the film, perhaps as one of the five villa ...

Communities In Schools of Los Angeles Gala 2014, Presented By CAA And EIF
EXCLUSIVE: Over the weekend, Oscar winning screenwriter Akiva Goldsman and aents at CAA reached loggerheads and made a mutual decision to part company. Today, he has signed with WME Entertainment. The move will come as a surprise to some, because Goldsman had been a CAA client for so long and because he is a close friend of agency head Richard Lovett but the way it was described to me, the relationship ran its course. Goldsman most recently did a rewrite of Insurgent, the sequel to Summ ...
