Chris Hemsworth wants Star Wars role

Chris Hemsworth wants to star in the new 'Star Wars' movies because he was such a fan of the film series growing up.

Chris Hemsworth wants to star in the new 'Star Wars' movies.
The 'Avengers' actor was a huge fan of the original films when he was growing up, so would jump at the chance at a part in the recently-announced Episodes VII, VIII, and IX in the sci-fi series.
Asked if he would be interested in the new films, he told MTV News: ''Oh man, I love those films. That's the sort of bread and butter of my film experience as a kid. I would love to work on something like that.''
The 29-year-old star also admitted he is sad to have missed out on a part in the films based on J. R. R. Tolkien's 'The Hobbit' and 'The Lord of the Rings' trilogy.
He added: ''I also loved 'Lord of the Rings'. I would have loved to have done something in that world.''
Meanwhile, Lawrence Kasdan - who was involved in writing the original 'Star Wars' trilogy - and Simon Kinberg have reportedly closed deals to pen the final two movies in the new series.
The pair will join 'Little Miss Sunshine' writer Michael Arndt, who was previously announced to be writing episode VII for Disney Pictures.
However, it is not clear how the division of writing the two films will be made.

However, nothing’s come of those talks since then, and that means it’s time for another round of Doctor Strange casting rumors. The latest one is that Jack Huston is now in the running for the role. The Boardwalk Empire star isn’t as famous as some of the other folks who’ve been linked to the part i ...

AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON: Check out Hawkeye’s New Outfit; Joss Whedon and Kevin Feige Talk about Iron Man’s Hulkbuster Armor

Aug 25 2014 11:17am CDT | Source: Collider

When last we heard from Avengers: Age of Ultron, Marvel was showing footage to an enthusiastic crowd at the San Diego Comic-Con.  Today, a new image from the film has popped up in the pages of Empire Magazine, and it shows off Hawkeye's new costume.  It looks like Hawkeye took Tony's "Legolas" joke from the first movie to heart.  I'm curious if this is the only superhero outfit he'll wear since the Comic-Con concept art collage showed Hawkeye in a suit that resemb ...

Shane Black to Direct ‘The Destroyer’ Movie Adaptation

Aug 22 2014 11:21am CDT | Source: Screen Rant

Amazing what one stellar franchise picture can do for a person’s career. Just take a look at Shane Black, Lethal Weapon screenwriter turned Marvel wunderkind following his efforts on 2013′s Iron Man 3; that film crossed the billion dollar finish line and scored highly among critics (despite striking controversy among fans), and in the wake of its success Black has been writing his own ticket through Hollywood. That Doc Savage movie he’s flirted with sinc ...

Avengers 3: Is Marvel Killing The Magic?

Aug 15 2014 10:42pm CDT | Source: movie pilot

I can see the headline - "Guardians of the Galaxy Astounds with 165 million dollar debut!" Really, it is astounding because without promos who even knew who the Guardians of the Galaxy were. But you had the name "Marvel Comics" on the project so what did you expect? People flock to the theaters like stampeding cattle because its another Marvel movie and the reason why all comes down to The Avengers. Financially, the first Avenger ...

Don’t Expect to See Falcon Become Cap in ‘Captain America 3′

Aug 15 2014 1:45pm CDT | Source: Slash Film

When Marvel Comics announced that Sam Wilson, typically known as the Falcon, would take up the mantle of Captain America in an upcoming comics storyline, fans assumed that the film franchise featuring the same characters might quickly follow suit. Marvel Studios will soon need to negotiate new contracts for its primary Avengers stars, after all, and there’s every reason to expect that guys like Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth will eventually want to lay down their costumes and weapons. ...

Josh Brolin Talks Being Thanos: When Will We See the Baddie Next?

Aug 8 2014 10:24am CDT | Source: movie fanatic

For Josh Brolin to be Thanos, to get ready to play the biggest bad guy in the Marvel universe, Brolin reported that the Marvel Studio gave him more information than was humanly possible to digest so quickly, but he loved it. In fact, his next film faded into the background! “They sent me so much frickin’ research -- I was in the middle of doing Everest, and I was focusing more on Thanos than I was on Everest,” Brolin told IGN. But it’s an exciting prospect, truly.” We saw a ...

Aug 6 2014 10:35am CDT | Source: movie fanatic

At the end of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Cap went off with Falcon to search for his World War II buddy, Bucky Barnes, aka The Winter Soldier. So, how does Avengers: Age of Ultron writer-director Joss Whedon deal with that aspect of the Marvel universe when Cap is clearly a part of The Avengers in his movie? 'Cause the one thing I wanted and didn't get from THE RAID: REDEMPTION was the guy from JOHN CARTER!

Aug 4 2014 5:15pm CDT | Source: aintitcool

Taylor Kitsch is almost locked to star. Read the full article on AICN Listen.   I like Taylor Kitsch. I never watched FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS, and he had a rough start in movies with the dual failures of BATTLESHIP and JOHN CARTER (neither of which he was particularly good in anyway), but he's done good work in SAVAGES, LONE SURVIVOR, got some strong notices for his work on HBO's THE NORMAL HEART, ...
