Anchorman 2 to get musical sequence

Nov 13 2012, 10:01am CST | by

'Anchorman 2' co-writer and director Adam McKay has revealed the movie will feature a musical spectacular.

'Anchorman 2' will feature a musical spectacular.
Plans are underway for the long-awaited sequel - which stars Will Ferrell as San Diego newsman Ron Burgundy - and co-writer/director Adam McKay is looking forward to getting the cast singing and dancing.
He told The Playlist: ''The music sequences we have done - we did 'Afternoon Delight' in 'Anchorman', Adam Scott and his family singing 'Sweet Child O' Mine' in 'Step Brothers', we did a whole song for 'Talladega Nights' that got cut out, a big, big musical number - we always do it live on the set.
''And my thing is, if the actors get freaked out, don't sweat it, we can always re-record it later. And every time we've done it, we end up using the live track from the recording. We'll probably do it the same way in this.
''This one might have a little more movement in it, and the only problem with that is the actors get winded.''
Adam also expressed his determination to share the humour in the script throughout all the cast members.
He said: ''We're talking about, for 'Anchorman 2', creating a murderer's row of the best day players ever. Like having every single one line or three-line role, just be someone we just love. Someone like Ian Roberts or Rob Huebel or Paula Killen - just making sure every day player is a homerun.''
Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, David Koechner and Christina Applegate are all signed up to appear in the sequel, which is scheduled for release next year.

Oct 31 2014 6:00pm CDT | Source: slash film

The picture above isn’t a Halloween party shot; it’s a behind the scenes pic from James’ Franco‘s film adaptation of the novel Zeroville. And Seth Rogen isn’t really playing screenwriter and director John Milius. In fact, he’s playing a character called Viking Man… who is a very thinly-disguised representation of Milius. Zeroville features quite a few such figures. Some of the book’s characters are famous (Martin Scorsese is represented, for instance) while others are fairly ...

Oct 23 2014 10:31am CDT | Source: slash film

Back in the hectic days of summer, Adam McKay was named as one of many possibilities to replace director Edgar Wright on Ant-Man.
