Anne Hathaway joins Robopocalypse

Anne Hathaway has confirmed she will star in Steven Spielberg's 'Robopocalypse' and insists she will never turn down one of his projects.

Anne Hathaway has confirmed she will star in 'Robopocalypse'.
The 'One Day' star says she will appear in the sci-fi thriller after receiving a call from director Steven Spielberg and the brunette beauty insists she will never turn down an offer to be in one of his projects.
She told Empire magazine: ''If 'Robopocalypse' happens I will be in it, and I believe it's quite real, though you never want to hang your hat on anything.
''Whenever I'm taking time off, I always joke to my team that I'm on vacation unless Steven Spielberg calls. And I was on vacation and Spielberg called. So I was like, 'OK, put my money where my mouth is'.''
Drew Goddard wrote the script based on Daniel H. Wilson's sci-fi novel, which had Spielberg so excited he agreed to direct before the book was even published this June.
The film will begin seeing humanity waking up to a robot revolution ran by a malevolent artificial intelligence known as 'Archos'.
Anne will play the lead female role alongside 'Skyfall' actor Ben Whishaw and 'Avengers Assemble' star Chris Hemsworth, who was sought after by Spielberg after making a good impression when they met.
'Robopocalypse', co-financed by DreamWorks and Fox, is scheduled to begin filming early 2013 and is slated for release on April 25, 2014.

New ‘Interstellar’ IMAX TV Spot Looks Absolutely Stellar

Aug 26 2014 12:15pm CDT | Source: Slash Film

It almost seems a shame to post the new Interstellar IMAX TV spot here at /Film, because this is so obviously the kind of film that begs to be seen on the biggest screen possible. On the other hand, though, if sharing a dinky YouTube preview is what it takes to get people to see the full movie in a proper IMAX theater, then the net effect of that will be good. Besides, we admit, it’s just really hard to resist taking a peek at Christopher Nolan‘s latest stunner. Watch the Interstellar IMAX ...

Mike Epps Takes the Lead in Richard Pryor Biopic

Aug 26 2014 11:30am CDT | Source: Slash Film

Looks like the lead in the Richard Pryor biopic has gone to Mike Epps. Somehow, early on in the process, it looked like Nick Cannon was going to get the gig, and thus be enshrined in proximity to Pryor’s simply by virtue of proximity. But then Mike Epps came roaring up from the back of the pack with a screen test that was reportedly impossible to ignore. (He’d been attached to play Pryor in a previous version of this project.) So now we’ve got a Lee Daniels film about Richard Pryor, star ...

James Bobin’s ALICE IN WONDERLAND: THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS Begins Production

Aug 4 2014 10:07am CDT | Source: Collider

Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland is one of the director's weakest efforts, but it's also by far his highest grossing.  The movie made over $1 billion worldwide at the box office, and I'm surprised it's taken so long for a sequel to start moving into production.  But four years later, production has begun on Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass with James Bobin (The Muppets) in the director ...
