Anne Hathaway joins Robopocalypse

Anne Hathaway has confirmed she will star in Steven Spielberg's 'Robopocalypse' and insists she will never turn down one of his projects.

Anne Hathaway has confirmed she will star in 'Robopocalypse'.
The 'One Day' star says she will appear in the sci-fi thriller after receiving a call from director Steven Spielberg and the brunette beauty insists she will never turn down an offer to be in one of his projects.
She told Empire magazine: ''If 'Robopocalypse' happens I will be in it, and I believe it's quite real, though you never want to hang your hat on anything.
''Whenever I'm taking time off, I always joke to my team that I'm on vacation unless Steven Spielberg calls. And I was on vacation and Spielberg called. So I was like, 'OK, put my money where my mouth is'.''
Drew Goddard wrote the script based on Daniel H. Wilson's sci-fi novel, which had Spielberg so excited he agreed to direct before the book was even published this June.
The film will begin seeing humanity waking up to a robot revolution ran by a malevolent artificial intelligence known as 'Archos'.
Anne will play the lead female role alongside 'Skyfall' actor Ben Whishaw and 'Avengers Assemble' star Chris Hemsworth, who was sought after by Spielberg after making a good impression when they met.
'Robopocalypse', co-financed by DreamWorks and Fox, is scheduled to begin filming early 2013 and is slated for release on April 25, 2014.

It was announced last week that the excellent Neil Patrick Harris will be hosting this coming February's Oscar ceremony, but it turns out that NPH wasn’t the Academy’s first choice.  THR reports that producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron—who have produced the last two ceremonies in a row—first “begged” Ellen Degeneres to return as Oscar for this year’s ceremony.  She firmly declined the offer, and then they ne ...

The summer movie season is behind us, and there is a lot to look forward to in the closing months of 2014.  As always there’s plenty of adult dramas to dig through, but the year’s final releases are an eclectic bunch ranging from massive-scale sci-fi films to psychedelic period romps, and there are more than a couple of new releases from some of the best filmmakers working today.  It’s an embarrassment of riches, but Matt, Adam, Perri, ...

What We Learned (and Didn't Learn) from the New 'Interstellar' TV Spots

Sep 29 2014 5:12pm CDT | Source: yahoo

The broad outlines of the plot are clearer: The Earth is experiencing a life-ending ecological disaster and an intrepid group of astronauts (including Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway) are sent on a last-ditch mission to find a new haven for humanity.  We definitely see more of the walking-Tetris-block contraption (above) that accompanies McConaughey as he surveys the alien planet — it seems to be a fusion of the self-stabilizing walking “ ...
