Jake Gyllenhaal thought filming 'End of Watch' was traumatic.
The 31-year-old heartthrob experienced scenes of extreme violence while preparing for David Ayer's harrowing new cop drama as well as undergoing five months of intense preparation on patrol with real Los Angeles policemen.
He told the Telegraph newspaper: ''Once, outside a motorcycle club, a large man had been shot up. He had about 10 bullets in him, but was cognisant and talking.
''We saw a lot of stuff, a lot of violence, and without a doubt this has had more of an impact on me on than anything I have done before.''
The 'Donnie Darko' star confessed working with writer-director David - a former LA gang member - was life-changing and says he now understands the post-traumatic stress that police officers suffer from.
Jake explained: ''It's changed things for me in so many ways, not least in how I regard the police. People talk about post-traumatic stress with soldiers coming back form war, but no one thinks about cops on patrol and what they deal with. I had no idea what these guys, or their spouses, go through.
''And also, on a personal level, making the movie transformed my view of Los Angeles. It made me fall in love with the place again.''

Fantastic Fest 2014 Preview: Our Most Anticipated Movies We Barely Knew Existed

Sep 18 2014 12:06pm CDT | Source: movies.com

The best part about a film festival like Fantastic Fest is that even obsessed movie buffs probably don't know much about the movies programmed. It's often a total wild card roster filled with movies that sort of exist in the shadows, at least as far as the U.S. is concerned, until Fantastic Fest and its ravenous audience put them on the map. Fantastic Fest does also play a number of big-name movies with Hollywood talent involved, ...

Nightcrawler Review

Sep 6 2014 3:05am CDT | Source: ign

Nightcrawler is a dirty, grubby, creepy movie; the kind that makes you feel like you need a wash after the credits have rolled. It’s a film that has much to say about the madness of the modern media, about how society has encouraged that insanity, and about the dangerous fallout of mass unemployment. And it’s a masterful directorial debut from screenwriter Dan Gilroy (The Bourne Legacy) that features a grandstanding central performance ...

Zac Efron As Superman? Actors Who Were Almost Superheroes!

Aug 20 2014 10:15pm CDT | Source: movie pilot

A lot of articles just repeat others, so I decided to dig deep to find old castings of people who were almost superheroes. Zac Efron As Superman!Zac Efron As Superman! Before Henry Cavil was officially cast as Superman in Man Of Steel, Zac Efron was one of the many people who were almost Superman. The way they casted this movie is if any of the actors could wear the original Christopher Reeves suit and not have the staff laugh than you would have been Superm ...

The original release date for the film was November 14, but Fury will now open just shy of a month earlier, on October 17. The move puts th ...
