Sigourney Weaver's close encounter with gorilla

Sigourney Weaver was ''really brave'' when she came face-to-face with real gorillas in 'Gorillas in the Mist'.
The 63-year-old actress played physiotherapist Dian Fossey in the 1988 US drama movie, which saw her star ''right in amongst'' real primates, and ape impersonator Peter Elliott - who played a costumed gorilla in the motion picture - is full of praise for her ''amazing'' heroics in the film.
He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: ''Sigourney Weaver was really brave in 'Gorillas in the Mist'. About 50 per cent of the shots are real gorillas and some of the ones you see Sigourney in are with real gorillas. She was really right in amongst the gorillas and it was quite amazing.''
The movement actor - who has worked with the likes of Marlon Brando, Martin Freeman, Spike Jonze and John Cleese - helped teach Ray Winstone how to walk like a dwarf in this year's fantasy film 'Snow White and the Huntsman', and he admits it was hilarious watching the 55-year-old actor try to learn each movement.
He added: ''Teaching Ray to walk like a dwarf was quite funny, he was a great laugh. They all were on that picture, really. It was a change for me doing dwarves instead of apes and creatures.
''What you learn by having to study chimps and gorillas is that it's a methodology of how to watch it and then how to teach it and it becomes a transferable skill.''
