Suicide Squad sees a huge Drop in Earnings over the Weekend
Suicide Squad drops in earning but remains at number one spot
It was predicted that Suicide Squad won’t be able to attract many film enthusiasts as the first week of release came to end. It was predicted that a sudden and large drop in earnings will be seen associated with this movies earnings. These predictions have all come true. Suicide Squad managed to get a hold on a good opening at the start of the weekend however its progression went downwards steadily after its release.
It looks like the hype associated with the movie was not able to provide justice to the original story. The movie was originally supposed to do a good business however many were predicting that it might break some of the Box office records. Though no records were broken by the movie.
Overall it found a good review by people but the interest was shown lacking by many super hero movie fans. This week the new Sony’s R-rated Sausage Party was also released. It has managed to take up the number two spot after Suicide Squad. At the third place, Disney’s Pete’s Dragon has made its own place.
If we look at the chart ratings Suicide Squad has dropped off by 67.3% which gives an estimate of almost $43.7 million, according to BoxOfficeMojo. The movie has managed to earn $222 million nationwide with an amount of $58.7 million from the international chains.
Sausage Party had an opening of $33.6 million when it opened in 3,103 theaters. It has shown some impressive rotten tomatoes score of 82%.
At the third place we have Pete’s Dragon as we mentioned above as well. It has managed to get an estimated amount of $21.5 million. It was showcased in 3,702 theaters all over the country.
