Foy from “Interstellar” will be seen in a lead role in The Nutcracker
Walt Disney is all set to work on the new project which is a retelling of The Nutcracker. They have selected the rising start and famous actor Mackenzie Foy from “Interstellar” to play the lead role in the movie, according to Variety.
Foy was seen playing the role of Mathew McConaughey’s genius daughter who later on became a scientist like her father in the movie. Her role was very much appreciated by the critics and she was acclaimed for her acting as well. She will be seen along Misty Copeland who is also casted for The Nutcracker. Misty will be seen as the lead ballerina in the movie’s only solo dance number.
It is going to be a live action project. It is named as The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. This movie is based on the 1816 classic story The Nutcracker and the Mouse King which was written by E.T.A. Hoffman. The movie is based on the story of a girl which will be played by Foy who is given the charge of taking care of a Christmas Toy Nutcracker doll. Later on the toy comes to life and the adventure starts. The toy doll then helps the girl to defeat an evil Mouse King who is happened to have seven heads.
This movie was adapted in to a ballet in the year 1982 by the name of The Nutcracker. It was composed by Russian composer Pyotr IIyich Tchaikovsky. The Disney movie is written by Ashleigh Powell. While the selected producer for movie is Mark Gordon. Lindy Goldstein is going to direct this movie.
