Paramount hardly surmounts anything at the Cinema Con with Baywatch, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 and more.
The Paramount Studio failed to make a big impression during the Cinema Con with rarely impressive celebrities and promos.
Cinema Con is a five day event where all cinema related people including movie fans, investors and theater owners come to have fun and get a glimpse of all the movies that each label will introduce in the coming year.
Each day is full of presentations from different studios of their latest and upcoming films and it is their one shot at making an everlasting first impression on all in attendance to make their movies successful.
The Monday was kicked off by Paramount studios which has been struggling for the past few years in producing any big hit unlike its counterparts Disney and Warner Bros. Even Universal has managed to stay at par but Paramount hoped to impress at this Cinema Con and managed a mild deuce.
The biggest mistake was probably missing out the trailer of its potentially highest earning movie of the year, Star Trek Beyond.
The first movie of the JJ Abrams revived franchise did unexpectedly well on the box office and the second part of the movie was also able to veer in a good direction so it would be understandable that the movie should have gotten some attention at the Con but it didn’t.
There was no exclusive promos or teasers for the movie and director JJ Abrams was nowhere to be found. Has he left his veteran project for his dream project of Star Wars?
Meanwhile Dwayne Johnson was all on board to make the Baywatch boat go smoothly as he was accompanied by his star cast consisting of Zac Effron, Alexandra Diddario and Kelly Rohrbach to promote the movie and share an exclusive clip.
The clip shows Diddario and Johnson riding a roller coaster and Diddario asks the ultimate question about why there bikinis are so short that they ride up into their cracks to which Johnson wisely replies so they can enter water quicker.
Johnson is dedicated to making the movie the best looking movie this year and that’s why he has the cast all hitting the gym.
Talking about the best looking cast, Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard shared a steamy promo from their upcoming WWII drama titles Allied which is already gathering some award talk.
Another dynamic duo came in form of Jeremy Renner and Amy Adams as they introduced a promo from their upcoming film Story of Your Life in which Amy plays an expert linguist who can communicate with aliens.
Another duo that did not work at the Cinema Con was Megan Fox and Will Arnett. The pair came out to showcase the trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle: Out of Shadows trailer but their pizza related humour was a fail at provoking any kind of humour.
Maybe Will Arnett might have made the joke work if there had been someone like Amy Poehler or Tina Fey with him but Megan Fox is just not that into making pizza as fun as Ellen DeGeneres.
According to Mashable, the trailer was good featuring more turtles and less Megan and Will. Another trailer that got us excited was Tom Cruise in video introducing the new Jack Reacher movie which will be going to Washington and New Orleans this time.
The next days of the Cinema Con will be featuring showcases from Universal, Warner Bros. and Disney and they will hopefully be more exciting than the Paramount showcase.
