Star Wars fans and collectors are in for a treat this Friday. Force Friday marks the sales launch of Star Wars VII toys, collectibles, gadgets and other stuff. Several stores carrying new Star Wars products are going out of their way to make Force Friday special.
Amazon, Walmart, Disney Stores, BuyCostumes and Target are just some of the stores that will offer special events, giveaways and freebies on Force Friday.
ToysRUs for instance will open midnight and hand out free posters. As always with freebies, quantities are limited. Target will open 207 stores at midnight.
For the full Star Wars experience fans should consider a visit to a Disney Store. In select major cities, Disney stores will be open at midnight. The first 100 customers will get a free Star Wars Pin when making a purchase.
Disney hosts on the Star Wars channel a massive Star Wars: The Force Awakens toy unboxing live streaming event in over 18 hours in 15 cities and 12 countries to get a first look at the range of epic merchandise from Star Wars: The Force Awakens featuring YouTubers from the Maker Studios network. The first unboxing took place in Sydney, Australia at 7:45 a.m. local time on Thursday, Sept. 3 (5:45 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, Sept. 2), with the grand finale at Lucasfilm in San Francisco at 8 a.m. PDT (11 a.m. EDT) on Thursday, Sept. 3. Each of the 15 locations will reveal a new product inspired by Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
The global event will incorporate traditional toy unboxers such as the popular EvanTubeHD, channels featuring families such as Bratayley, lifehack specialists such as ExpCaseros, gamers such as AlexBy11, and Star Wars fans from around the world like Chris Pirillo.
Famous EvanTubeHD is on today at 8:30am ET.
Force Friday starts at 12:01am on Friday.
The new Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie will be in theaters on December 18. A new trailer is rumored for next week.
