Star Wars fans rejoice! Walk Disney announced today that they will create two massive (and we do mean MASSIVE) Star Wars expansions at both the California location Disneyland and the Florida location, Walt Disney World resort.

According to CNN, the CEO of Disney, Bob Iger revealed the plans for the next expansions at Disney’s D23 Expo. The expansions to the original parks will be 14-acres each. They will also be the largest themed sections.

These expansions have been in the cards for quite a long time, and will allow then to feel like that are participating in an epic battle between the First Order and the Resistance and to take control of Han Solo’s iconic ship, the Millennium Falcon, on a special secret mission.

So far, there hasn’t been a start or completion date announced.

However, that isn’t where the good news ended for Star Wars fans – Disney also announced that the beloved “Jurassic World” director, Colin Trevorrow, will direct “Star Wars: Episode IX” in 2019. This film is slated to follow after J.J. Abrams’ “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” in December and Rian Johnson’s “Star Wars: Episode VIII” in 2017 and will conclude the new trilogy.

“This is not a job or an assignment,” Trevorrow said in a statement about his new directorial role. “It is a seat at a campfire, surrounded by an extraordinary group of storytellers, filmmakers, artists and craftspeople.”

Trevor added that he’s been “charged with telling new stories for a younger generation” so that they can have “a mythology to call their own.”

“We will do this by channeling something George Lucas instilled in all of us: boundless creativity, pure invention and hope,” Trevorrow said.
