Hollywood is about to undergo a Harry Potter make over as the theme park ‘The Wizarding World of Harry Potter’ is about to come to the Universal Studios in Hollywood.
‘The Wizarding World of Harry Potter’ is based on the wizarding world of Harry Potter novels written by J.K. Rowling.
The attraction will be opening in California in the spring of next year. ‘The Wizarding World of Harry Potter’ was previously opened in the Universal studios of Orlando and Japan.
The theme park in Hollywood will feature an additional experience not present in the Orlando theme park called the ‘Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey’.
The new feature will be a flight simulator which will feel like a hyper-realistic 3D experience to guests as they follow Harry, Ron and Hermione in the ride. Guests will be able to wear Quidditch-inspired 3D goggles for the ‘Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey’.
Other attractions of the theme park include roller coaster rides such as the ‘Flight of the Hippogriff’ the first outdoor rollercoaster by Universal. A number of Harry Potter inspired eateries will also be present such as the Wiseacre’s Wizarding Equipment, Filch’s Emporium of Confiscated Goods and the Hog’s Head Pub.
The president of Universal Studios Larry Kurzweil stated Harry Potter is a global and multigenerational phenomenon and it keeps on captivating the world through different mediums.
The Universal Studio is thrilled to be the ones to offer Harry Potter fans a new and compelling experience of the Wizarding world and are really excited to embark on the next chapter in history of Hollywood.
