Harrison Ford Injured on the Set of Star Wars: Episode VII

Jun 13 2014, 8:41am CDT | by

Harrison Ford got injured on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII and was sent to the hospital immediately.

Harrison Ford injured himself yesterday during the shooting of Star Wars: Episode VII. One of the hydraulic doors on the Millennium Falcon fell on the 71-year-old actor.

He was immediately airlifted to the hospital after the unfortunate incident at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire.

A representative of Disney confirmed the news regarding his injury. He also said that the shooting of the new Star Wars sequel will continue.

"He was taken to a local hospital and is receiving care. Shooting will continue as planned while he recuperates," a Disney spokesman said. Currently the film is being shot both in London and Abu Dhabi.

The workplace watchdogs in the UK are looking into the matter. A Health and Safety Executive spokesperson said, "We have been made aware of an incident at Pinewood Studios and are making initial enquiries."

Harrison Ford is playing his same old charismatic role as Han Solo in the Star Wars: Episode VII. Ford's old co-stars Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill are also playing their unforgettable roles of Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker in this sequel of Star Wars.

Other new cast members of the Star Wars: Episode VII include the beautiful Lupita Nyong'o along with Daisy Ridley, Domhnall Gleeson and Adam Driver. Dircetor J.J. Abrams is all set to release Star Wars: Episode VII in theaters in December of 2015.

With Star Wars Episode VII just over a year away, it's perfectly natural to be hugely overexcited, to the point that your remastered Original Trilogy DVD (With the original edit included, obviously) is threatening to go on strike, your old school action figures are looking suspiciously well-used, and your significant other is threatening to leave you if you call them Lando one more time, just because they ate the last bagel.Or, at least, that's what I'm telling myself.Even ...

Real-Life Heroes: Actors That Saved Lives!

Oct 24 2014 3:45pm CDT | Source: movie pilot

With the incredible story of how The Walking Dead's Laurie Holden participated in a covert operation to free 55 Columbian sex slaves, it's worth taking a look at the amazing heroics that some of our favorite actors and actresses have performed to help out their fellow humans.
