Stallone: Schwarzenegger was 'the guy' for Escape Plan

Oct 15 2013, 1:24pm CDT | by Bang Movies

Sylvester Stallone says Arnold Schwarzenegger was the obvious choice to star opposite him in 'Escape Plan'.

The veteran action hero claims it was a no-brainer teaming up with his fellow muscleman for the upcoming thriller - about a structural engineer who is tries to escape a prison of his own design after being wrongly convicted of a crime.

Stallone told Nuts magazine: ''After I read the script I knew 'Escape Plan' was the one. The most important thing when planning a movie - who are the players? Who's gonna be your competition and your antagonist and eventually your buddy in this thing? Arnold, of course! When he complied, it was green-lit immediately. There was no one else considered, he was the guy.''

Austrian-born Schwarzenegger - who put his film career on hold to hold office as the Governor of California from 2003 until 2011 - had been waiting for the perfect opportunity to team up with Stallone in an action movie for a number of years.

He said: ''For me it was all about the chance to work with Sly. We were trying for decades to make a movie together and finally we found the right story. Yes, we did 'Expendables', but this was starring alongside each other throughout the whole movie.''

The Hollywood heavyweights claim their real-life relationship is just as competitive and testosterone-charged as their on-screen partnership.

Stallone joked: ''We're very competitive and everything we've accomplished in our lives has been through struggle and overcoming the odds because we're just not willing to settle for second best.

''Rarely do you get two personalities like this working together. We're just a couple of old warhorses and more than a little alpha territorial.''

‘Jingle All the Way 2′ Dresses Up as a Real Movie for Halloween

Oct 31 2014 6:15pm CDT | Source: Slash Film

I know, it’s too early to start throwing Christmas movies at you. But this only looks like a Christmas movie. In fact, I believe this trailer for Jingle All the Way 2, starring Larry the Cable Guy, is actually a bunch of footage dressed up as a real movie for Halloween. Sadly, Larry does not play the character originated by Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 1996 movie. That might be a pretty good trick. He’s just another dad trying to get a great gift for his kid. Hint: this Jingle All ...

Oct 30 2014 12:00pm CDT | Source: Slash Film

We know how Terminator: Genisys fits into the Terminator franchise in our world. It’s the fifth feature, and the first since 2009′s Terminator Salvation. What’s harder to suss out is how the story fits into the Terminator mythology. Is it a reboot? A sequel? Or something else entirely? The answer, it turns out, might be “all of the above.” Laeta Kalogridis (who wrote the script with Patrick Lussier) confirms Termi ...
