Sandra Bullock rules out The Heat sequel

Sandra Bullock has ruled out starring in a sequel to 'The Heat'.

The Oscar-winning actress starred alongside Melissa McCarthy in the smash hit female cop comedy - directed by 'Bridesmaids' helmer Paul Feig - earlier this year, but she has revealed she won't do a sequel because past follow-ups she's starred in, 'Speed 2: Cruise Control' and 'Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous', were ''horrible''.

She told TheWrap.com: ''I'm not doing a sequel to 'The Heat'. I've done two sequels. They were horrible. What Melissa and I had was beautiful. We might do another film together. I think we should do a silent film together.''

The film's leading ladies formed a close bond on the set of the hit comedy, as did their children, and Bullock hopes to remain friends with her co-star.

She added: ''We do well with our play dates. We're going to keep doing sequels to our play dates.''

Director Paul Feig confirms a script for the sequel has been written and he would be ''very sad'' if Bullock didn't return.

He added: ''It would be very hard. They're so great together. Their chemistry is so awesome. I would be very sad if I didn't have both of them back.''

Meanwhile, Feig is set to re-team with McCarthy for a third time on a James Bond-esque spy comedy, 'Susan Cooper', which will shoot next spring.

He told Page Six: ''I don't want her [to be able] to beat up a 300-pound giant . She has to use her wits to do it. Women make the best spies because they can figure out how to get in with somebody, gain their trust and be a friend ... still, if she has to kick ass in some way, she can.''
