Sandra Bullock rules out The Heat sequel

Oct 3 2013, 4:40am CDT | by Bang Movies

Sandra Bullock has ruled out starring in a sequel to 'The Heat'.

The Oscar-winning actress starred alongside Melissa McCarthy in the smash hit female cop comedy - directed by 'Bridesmaids' helmer Paul Feig - earlier this year, but she has revealed she won't do a sequel because past follow-ups she's starred in, 'Speed 2: Cruise Control' and 'Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous', were ''horrible''.

She told TheWrap.com: ''I'm not doing a sequel to 'The Heat'. I've done two sequels. They were horrible. What Melissa and I had was beautiful. We might do another film together. I think we should do a silent film together.''

The film's leading ladies formed a close bond on the set of the hit comedy, as did their children, and Bullock hopes to remain friends with her co-star.

She added: ''We do well with our play dates. We're going to keep doing sequels to our play dates.''

Director Paul Feig confirms a script for the sequel has been written and he would be ''very sad'' if Bullock didn't return.

He added: ''It would be very hard. They're so great together. Their chemistry is so awesome. I would be very sad if I didn't have both of them back.''

Meanwhile, Feig is set to re-team with McCarthy for a third time on a James Bond-esque spy comedy, 'Susan Cooper', which will shoot next spring.

He told Page Six: ''I don't want her [to be able] to beat up a 300-pound giant . She has to use her wits to do it. Women make the best spies because they can figure out how to get in with somebody, gain their trust and be a friend ... still, if she has to kick ass in some way, she can.''

It Might Be 2014, but 2001 is Making a Comeback

Oct 27 2014 4:05pm CDT | Source: movie pilot

Cinophiles don’t exactly need an excuse to revisit Stanley Kubrick’s iconic films, but with the re-release of 2001: A Space Odyssey and one of the latest Simpsons spoofs, “A Clockwork Yellow”, it seems as though once again the world has gone crazy for the visionary director. Opening in November in the UK, 2001 really doesn’t need the extra hype, but will benefit from a whole new generation of movie buffs who’ve just recently dealt with the loneliness of space ...

Ghostbusters 3 Hires The Heat Screenwriter: Katie Dippold Gets the Call

Oct 8 2014 2:53pm CDT | Source: movie fanatic

When it came to Who You Gonna Call to pen the script for Ghostbusters 3, director Paul Feig didn’t have to look too far. Feig hired his The Heat screenwriter Katie Dippold to pen the latest Ghostbusters, which is said to be a Ghostbusters reboot with an all-female cast. Given that Feig oversaw those Bridesmaids quotes as director, he is the perfect helmer to bring an all-female Ghostbusting c ...
