Naomi Watts relates to Princess Diana's love life

Sep 6 2013, 4:18am CDT | by Bang Movies

Naomi Watts could relate to Princess Diana's ''human problems''.

The 44-year-old actress plays the late British royal in biopic 'Diana' and insists she could ''identify'' with her relationship troubles.

Naomi has been in a relationship with Liev Schreiber - with whom she has sons Sasha, six, and four-year-old Sammy Kai - since 2005, but previously had failed romances with director Stephen Hopkins and actor Heath Ledger.

She told the Daily Telegraph newspaper: ''She had really human problems we have all seen at one point or another in our lives, and looking for love is something we can all identify with.

''I spent a couple of years in and out of a few relationships that I thought were going in the right direction but they didn't end up that way and I was sad and lonely in between.

''But Diana did connect with someone despite the breakdown of her marriage and that's the uplifting part of the story.''

Diana divorced Britain's Prince Charles in August 1996, one year before her death in a Paris car crash.

She was then in a relationship with heart surgeon Hasnat Khan, but Naomi has yet to meet him as he has distanced himself from the movie.

She explained: ''I didn't get a chance to meet him. We were told not to go there because he was not interested in any kind of focus on his relationship or talking about it.

''He spoke when he had to and I actually got quite a bit of information out of his testimony at the inquest into her death, which was quite helpful.''

St. Vincent Review: Bill Murray Is Mesmerizing

Oct 24 2014 8:30am CDT | Source: movie fanatic

Bill Murray is Vincent and it’s safe to say he’s about as far away from being a Saint as can be when St. Vincent commences. And also, to describe his latest classic Murray character as a curmudgeon in this dark comedy is merely just the beginning of how we’d label this guy. He’s a laundry list of personality traits that are an utter delight for the audience to witness, but less than enjoyable for, frankly, anyone who has to meet h ...

New York Film Festival 2014: Birdman Movie Review

Oct 15 2014 5:13pm CDT | Source: movie pilot

Closing out this year's New York Film Festival is the latest film from Mexican director Alejandro González Iñárritu, Birdman. It’s not often that an art-house director takes on the superhero genre, but this is a special case where Iñárritu is not really adapting a fictional comic book character (I mean, all superheroes are fictional, right?), but rather a look at celebrity and how that clashes with art and commerce. Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) ...

Deadline sat down last night with Ted Melfi, the writer-director of St. Vincent, and the film's stars Bill Murray, Naomi Watts and Jaeden Lieberher.
