Ryan Reynolds gets fear of new movie roles

Aug 4 2013, 10:12am CDT | by Bang Movies

Ryan Reynolds gets ''s**t-your-pants fear'' taking on challenging movie roles.

The 'R.I.P.D.' actor likes to play a variety of different characters and carefully selects different projects, but admits there is an uncertainness which comes with stretching himself as an actor.

He explained: ''There's s**t-your-pants fear around every corner because I'm usually stepping out of a comfort zone that I haven't done before in a film. But that's the wonder of it, the beauty of it.''

The 36-year-old hunk - who is married to actress Blake Lively - admits he is extremely critical of his own work, but feels this self-reflection drives him to be a better actor.

He said: ''I can't say I've ever patted myself on the back and maybe that's what keeps me going, and that's a good thing. It speaks volumes about how I perceive myself. Like a lot of people, I've got a self-loathing streak that's alive and well. It acts as a de facto engine when I'm working, but it also has its extraordinary pitfalls, too.''

Ryan feels incredibly fulfilled by his movie career and would love to continue acting into his 90s - if he's still alive.

Quizzed about working in his senior years, he joked to Details magazine: ''Do I really want to survive [to be 95]?

''Yeah, I think [I would like to keep working]. If it could be like the experience I'm having now and again, yes. I don't know what the outcome is, but I would love if it was meaningful in some way.''

‘Amityville: The Awakening’ Trailer: It’s Not You, It’s the House

Aug 22 2014 3:43pm CDT | Source: screen rant

Whatever you do, don’t move into a house where the previous owner murdered their family under mysterious circumstances. You would think that characters in horror films would’ve picked up on this lesson by now; or, at the least, perform far more rigorous background checks on their newly-acquired real estate than they generally do. Either way, that’s not what happens in the upcoming Amityville: The Awakenin ...

First Trailer for 'Amityville: The Awakening' Brings the Same Scares

Aug 22 2014 2:59pm CDT | Source: First Showing

In what will make a dozen films in the franchise since The Amityville Horror first hit theaters 35 years ago, the first trailer for Amityville: The Awakening has arrived. Since the reboot of the horror series back in 2005 starring Ryan Reynolds, there have been some straight-to-DVD sequels, but now the residential terror is heading back to theaters just after the New Year (a dumping ground for bad horror) thanks to Dimension Films. This time, Jennifer Jas ...

New Trailer: "Amityville: The Awakening"

Aug 22 2014 1:57pm CDT | Source: Dark Horizons

Take the previous "Amityville" remake, reduce the budget and swap out Ryan Reynolds' super abs for a creepy kid hooked up to an EKG and you've essentially got "Amityville: The Awakening," a revisiting of the franchise led by Jennifer Jason Leigh. In this take there's no creepy dad to cause mayhem, instead it's a single mother and her kids (one with severe medical problems) who move into the haunted home. Cue glimpses o ...
