Arnold Schwarzenegger to star in Conan trilogy?

Jul 29 2013, 2:21am CDT | by Bang Movies

Arnold Schwarzenegger is being lined up to star in a 'Legend of Conan' trilogy.

The 65-year-old actor is to reprise his role as the titular warrior in one forthcoming film, but a further two movies look to be on the cards if the sequel to 1982's 'Conan the Barbarian' is a success, according to Fredrik Malmberg, President and Chief Executive Officer of Paradox Entertainment.

He said: ''We have a great story. Everyone loves it. This is a role that's perfect for him and he's very involved with the whole Universal team. It's the best team they have. Arnold has been very instrumental to being this together saying, 'We gotta make a good Conan!'

''I think if we do this right, we can do two more Conan movies right after. I think 'Game of Thrones' also shows a huge interest in fantasy. I'm psyched about it.''

Arnold has teamed up with Universal for the forthcoming film, which will see the iconic character go into battle once again after growing bored of being king.

Speaking to TheArnoldFans.com, Fredrik added: ''The idea is that this takes place after Conan has been king. But this is the legend of Conan where he has been gone and people say, 'Do you remember the good ol' days when Conan was around?' And now it's time for him to come back.

''In the stories and you can also see it when he's sitting on the thrown and the narration on that last scene of the movie...'with a troubled brow' ...you can tell he's not really happy being king. So, it's time for him to go out and do battle.''

‘Jingle All the Way 2′ Dresses Up as a Real Movie for Halloween

Oct 31 2014 6:15pm CDT | Source: Slash Film

I know, it’s too early to start throwing Christmas movies at you. But this only looks like a Christmas movie. In fact, I believe this trailer for Jingle All the Way 2, starring Larry the Cable Guy, is actually a bunch of footage dressed up as a real movie for Halloween. Sadly, Larry does not play the character originated by Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 1996 movie. That might be a pretty good trick. He’s just another dad trying ...

So Is ‘Terminator: Genisys’ a Reboot or What?

Oct 30 2014 12:00pm CDT | Source: Slash Film

We know how Terminator: Genisys fits into the Terminator franchise in our world. It’s the fifth feature, and the first since 2009′s Terminator Salvation. What’s harder to suss out is how the story fits into the Terminator mythology. Is it a reboot? A sequel? Or something else entirely? The answer, it turns out, might be “all of the above.” Laeta Kalogridis (who wrote the script with Patrick Lussier) confirms Terminator: Genisys isn’t rewriting the Terminator saga, b ...

Eddie Murphy & 'Driving Miss Daisy' Director 'Cook' Up New Drama

Oct 20 2014 5:19pm CDT | Source: First Showing

Fans will see Eddie Murphy get back into Axel Foley mode soon enough with Beverly Hills Cop 4 on the way. Plus, there's still that Twins sequel in the works that will team him up with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito in the cleverly titled Triplets. But before he makes a couple more comedies, he's going to take some time to get into drama briefly. In what will be his first non-animated, non-comedy role since ...

Who's Really to Blame for Batman and Robin - and THOSE Bat-Nipples?

Oct 15 2014 9:45am CDT | Source: movie pilot

When it comes to superhero movies, there don't come many more epic, genre-defining - and universally panned - than Batman and Robin. After all, Joel Schumacher's 1997 Bat-flick is now arguably the defining example of big-budget, studio-influenced, merchandising-sales-led superhero film-making - and a consistently popular punchline and punching bag for Bat-fans everywhere. Most of which, i ...

TERMINATOR: GENISYS Will Probably Be Rated PG-13; Not a Sequel or a Reboot

Oct 9 2014 10:12am CDT | Source: Collider

Paramount Pictures is already feeling pretty bullish on its new Terminator film, Terminator: Genisys (that subtitle is still idiotic), as they recently staked out release dates for two sequels to drop in 2017 and 2018, with the plan to shoot them back-to-back.  We still know very little about the nature of Genisys (*shudder*), but we do know that the lead actors are playing Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke), Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney), John Connor (Jason Clarke), and Danny Dy ...
