Rosamund Pike praises 'supportive' Pegg

Jul 27 2013, 10:10am CDT | by Bang Movies

Rosamund Pike has praised Simon Pegg for being such a ''supportive'' co-star.

The British actress had a blast filming 'The World's End' with the actor-and-writer and says they bonded after shooting two consecutive films together, with comedy 'Hector and the Search for Happiness' due out next year.

Speaking to BANG Showbiz, Rosamund said: ''I've had a lot of experience because I've just done another film with him. We get on incredibly well. I love working with him, he's very warm, he's very supportive, he's very, very funny - I love him.''

The 34-year-old blonde beauty says the prospect of working with Pegg, Nick Frost and director Edgar Wright was what attracted her to the film about a gang of old school friends trying to recreate a failed pub crawl, and she confessed she is jealous of the long-time collaborators' comic timing.

She explained: ''I'm a huge fan of 'Shaun of the Dead', they're very clever at what they do. The jokes in ['The World's End'] are just unbelievable. I remember reading the script for the first time when it wasn't even green lit and it just makes me so envious because I could never write something that good.

''Working on a British comedy is a different vibe, it's less actor-ly in a way. You've got fewer actors taking themselves way too seriously!''

As Pegg has become tee-total in recent years and Frost confessed to cutting down on booze, Pike reckons she could drink the cast under the table if it came to a real pub crawl.

She quipped: ''I'm pretty good - I go to the end, I last the course! I drink quite a few people under the table. I might surprise you.''

Ouija Scares Victory Over John Wick: Weekend Box Office Report

Oct 27 2014 9:00am CDT | Source: movie fanatic

Despite some sub-par reviews, including our Ouija review, the horror flick based on the board game came in first place at the weekend box office with a $20 million debut. With Halloween next Friday, this should hardly be a surprise as it was the only new horror flick to open wide. The Keanu Reeves action flick John Wick also did pretty darn well, coming in second with $14.2 million, Reeves biggest debut in eight years (since The Day the Earth Stood ...

Four new movies opened in wide release on Thursday night, but none of them were able to defeat David Fincher's Gone Girl (20th Century Fox), starring Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike, as it built on the word-of-mouth from its opening weekend to score a second weekend at #1 with $26.8 million, down just 29% from its opening weekend. Box Office Results: David Fincher's Gone Girl Gets the Edge on Horror Prequel Annabelle

Oct 5 2014 12:03pm CDT | Source: Coming Soon

For the first time in recent memory we had a bonafide photo finish for the top spot at the box office as two R-rated thrillers went neck and neck all through the weekend, ending up less than a million apart. Both of those movies did big business, well above tracking, and are likely to be among the Top 12 openers for the month of October. According to estimates, Gone Girl, the David Fincher-directed adaptation of Gillian Flynn's bestselling novel, starring Ben Affleck, Rosamund P ...
