Rosamund Pike praises 'supportive' Pegg

Jul 27 2013, 10:10am CDT | by Bang Movies

Rosamund Pike has praised Simon Pegg for being such a ''supportive'' co-star.

The British actress had a blast filming 'The World's End' with the actor-and-writer and says they bonded after shooting two consecutive films together, with comedy 'Hector and the Search for Happiness' due out next year.

Speaking to BANG Showbiz, Rosamund said: ''I've had a lot of experience because I've just done another film with him. We get on incredibly well. I love working with him, he's very warm, he's very supportive, he's very, very funny - I love him.''

The 34-year-old blonde beauty says the prospect of working with Pegg, Nick Frost and director Edgar Wright was what attracted her to the film about a gang of old school friends trying to recreate a failed pub crawl, and she confessed she is jealous of the long-time collaborators' comic timing.

She explained: ''I'm a huge fan of 'Shaun of the Dead', they're very clever at what they do. The jokes in ['The World's End'] are just unbelievable. I remember reading the script for the first time when it wasn't even green lit and it just makes me so envious because I could never write something that good.

''Working on a British comedy is a different vibe, it's less actor-ly in a way. You've got fewer actors taking themselves way too seriously!''

As Pegg has become tee-total in recent years and Frost confessed to cutting down on booze, Pike reckons she could drink the cast under the table if it came to a real pub crawl.

She quipped: ''I'm pretty good - I go to the end, I last the course! I drink quite a few people under the table. I might surprise you.''

20th Century Fox has released a stark new trailer for David Fincher’s mystery thriller “Gone Girl,” starring Ben Affleck. New TV Spot For 'Gone Girl' Keeps The Murder Mystery Alive

Aug 26 2014 11:13am CDT | Source: movies.com

There's still more than a month left before Gone Girl comes out, and I'm scared of being spoiled on the mystery. Did Ben Affleck's character kill his wife, played by Rosamund Pike? Did Neil Patrick Harris do it? Did Scoot McNairy do it? (Did I do it?) Yet the thing is, while the trailers and a new TV spot keeps us intrigued with wonder about who done it, that's not the sole reason to be excited about this movie. No way that director David Fincher would mak ...

‘Gone Girl’ TV Spot Pegs Ben Affleck as a Potential Murderer

Aug 26 2014 11:00am CDT | Source: slash film

Ben Affleck knows a thing or two about negative PR, but even his Gigli-era troubles have nothing on Nick Dunne’s. The latest Gone Girl TV spot stacks the deck against Nick, pegging him as the prime suspect in the disappearance of his beautiful wife Amy (Rosamund Pike). Of course, if the case were that straightforward there’d be no movie for David Fincher to make. Fortunately, as those who’ve read Gillian Flynn‘s book know, he’ll have plenty of twists and turns to work with before reaching the ...

Ben Affleck's Nick Murphy looks guilty...With two trailers already out there for David Fincher’s latest, the adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s thriller novel Gone Girl, the film making an appearance on the cover of the latest Empire seems a good time to bring out a third. What luck, then, that a shorter new promo has arrived… Gone Girl, which Flynn herself scripted and alters some details from the books, boasts a central mystery revolving the seemi ...

‘Gone Girl’ TV Trailer: Ben Affleck Might Be A Killer

Aug 26 2014 10:07am CDT | Source: Screen Rant

The Fall 2014 movie season might feel a bit like slim pickings, as far as quality film offerings go, but there are a number of potential gems awaiting therein, and Gone Girl is definitely one of them. Gillian Flynn adapted her best-selling mystery novel for David Fincher’s movie adaptation; judging by the trailer footage unveiled thus far, this could be another stylishly moody, dark, and overall troubling piece of storytelling from ...

Gone Girl TV Trailer: Till Death Do Us Part

Aug 26 2014 8:45am CDT | Source: movie fanatic

As opposed to that first Gone Girl trailer, the first Gone Girl TV spot appears to have all the fingers pointed squarely at Ben Affleck. See, the Gone Girl of the title of David Fincher’s latest crime thriller is Affleck’s onscreen wife Amy, played by Rosamund Pike -- and as one could disceern, she’s gone missing. Gone Girl TV Trailer Affleck’s character, Nick, is the number one suspect in the big screen adaptation of the blockbuster book by Gillian Flynn. But, ...

"I'm the guy to save you from all this aweseomeness." Last night, during the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards, David Fincher's murder mystery adaptation Gone Girl debuted an extended TV spot with some new footage from the film starring Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike. It's mostly just a recut of the most recent trailer, but there's some snippets of new footage, including a brief conversation Affleck's character has with Scoot McNairy, another potential suspect ...

David Fincher offers a “clarification” on his Gone Girl ending

Aug 15 2014 1:02am CDT | Source: Total Film

Ever since David Fincher claimed to have changed the ending of Gone Girl for his big-screen adaptation of the bestselling novel, there have been outraged fans demanding to know exactly what has been altered from the source material. Now, Fincher has always been an idiosyncratic character, and when asked to clarify exactly what he meant by those comments, provided an excellently murky explanation of how the new ending measures up to t ...
