Spider-Man stars have great chemistry

Jul 26 2013, 12:12am CDT | by Bang Movies

'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' stars Andrew Garfield and Dane DeHaan have great chemistry.

Director Marc Webb felt it was important that the actor who plays Harry Osborn - best friend to Spider-Man's alter-ego Peter Parker - be able to connect with Garfield on and off screen and he was extremely pleased when they hit it off in real life.

He said: ''Like casting Emma Stone [as Spider-Man's love interest Gwen Stacy], you want to find a chemistry that works between the actors and I think there was a very cool, interesting dynamic that developed between Dane and Andrew. Harry and Peter need to have an ease about them. Our conceit is that they were friends from when they were much younger and in order for that to work, you need a sense that there's a history there and there's a real great depth to their relationship.''

The filmmaker also praised franchise newcomer DeHaan - who will play the role made famous by James Franco in Sam Raimi's 'Spider-Man' trilogy - and thinks fans will be extremely impressed with his performance.

He told SuperheroHype.com: ''Dane's a really funny guy; he's a very funny actor and I think people will start to appreciate that. It's also exciting for me to find people who aren't overexposed, like Andrew with the first movie. Dane, I think is somebody that the world is starting to discover just how wonderful an actor he is, how great his look is, how dimensional his performances are.''

'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' is set for release in April 2014.

Jul 30 2014 10:44am CDT | Source: movie pilot

So, Comic-Con is over. SDCC 2014 is no more. It is an ex-convention.Now, we saw some pretty cool stuff over the past weekend - Wonder Woman's costume and a first look at Avengers: Age of Ultron are likely to be two standouts - but the overwhelming takeaway for many from the 'Con of 'Cons was one of absence. Of what was missing. Of what we didn't see.Namely:A Proper Look at the Justice LeagueSu ...

Nerd HQ: The Heart of Comic-Con

Jul 26 2014 10:29am CDT | Source: movie pilot

I've never been to Comic-Con. San Diego's prestigious event for cool folk the world over is actually only something that I've fairly recently started following. Since around 2012, truthfully. Perhaps it was the mighty summer superhero buzz that had me flowing in a river of comic book treacle - that year we got The Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises and The Amazing Spider-Man - or maybe it was just by ...

Jul 24 2014 2:38pm CDT | Source: dark horizons

Since its reboot in 2012, the two Marc Webb-directed "Amazing Spider-Man" films have performed slightly better overseas, taking in around $5 ...

Why Spidey Should Never Go To MARVEL!

Jul 16 2014 3:52am CDT | Source: movie pilot

These are my reasons why Spidey shouldn't go back to Marvel or just right now.He Doesn't Fit:Spidey doesnt fit in the MCU, why because we have learned from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 that the Chitauri attack never happened in New York City so we can cross out in seeing Andrew Garfield's Spidey in MCU. So if we will ever see Spidey in a MCU film it will probably be a rebooted version of the character. We will probably never see a rebooted character in the MCU b ...

Paramount Picking Up Martin Scorsese’s ‘Silence’

Jul 14 2014 4:45pm CDT | Source: slash film

Paramount Pictures, which released The Wolf of Wall Street last year, is now in talks to pick up US rights to the next Martin Scorsese film, Silence. Assuming the deal goes through, Silence would be released late next year, in November 2015. That would prime it for awards season, and a release window that is pretty much exactly what we’d expect to see for a film like this. Scorsese has been poised to make an adaptation of the S ...
