Spider-Man stars have great chemistry

Jul 26 2013, 12:12am CDT | by Bang Movies

'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' stars Andrew Garfield and Dane DeHaan have great chemistry.

Director Marc Webb felt it was important that the actor who plays Harry Osborn - best friend to Spider-Man's alter-ego Peter Parker - be able to connect with Garfield on and off screen and he was extremely pleased when they hit it off in real life.

He said: ''Like casting Emma Stone [as Spider-Man's love interest Gwen Stacy], you want to find a chemistry that works between the actors and I think there was a very cool, interesting dynamic that developed between Dane and Andrew. Harry and Peter need to have an ease about them. Our conceit is that they were friends from when they were much younger and in order for that to work, you need a sense that there's a history there and there's a real great depth to their relationship.''

The filmmaker also praised franchise newcomer DeHaan - who will play the role made famous by James Franco in Sam Raimi's 'Spider-Man' trilogy - and thinks fans will be extremely impressed with his performance.

He told SuperheroHype.com: ''Dane's a really funny guy; he's a very funny actor and I think people will start to appreciate that. It's also exciting for me to find people who aren't overexposed, like Andrew with the first movie. Dane, I think is somebody that the world is starting to discover just how wonderful an actor he is, how great his look is, how dimensional his performances are.''

'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' is set for release in April 2014.

Oct 27 2014 7:00am CDT | Source: Slash Film

Sideshow Collectibles sent me a sample of Hot Toys’ The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Sixth Scale Figure. Lets unbox this figure and take a look at whats inside the box. After the jump you will find photos of the Hot Toys The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Sixth Scale Figure, alongside my thoughts on the product.   While I didn’t hate Sony’s The Amazing Spider-man reboot as much as most people, I wasn’t a big fan of the sequel, The Amazing Spider-Man 2. But my problems with that film are mostly involved with ...

No One Even Knows What Is Happening with Spider-Man Anymore, Including Sony

Oct 8 2014 5:03pm CDT | Source: movie pilot

Full confession: As far as superheroes go, Spider-Man is my favorite. Always has been, always will be. I identified with the brainy, shy Peter Parker in a way that I didn't with any other comic book character as a kid. He forged himself upon my heart at a young age because he was just so cool, but also just so real. He was smart - like me! He was shy - like me! And he believed, always, in the power of heroism - like me! He was my guy, my tribe, my person, and many of Spidey's most dev ...

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Blu-ray Review

Oct 8 2014 8:28am CDT | Source: Collider

Peter Parker can’t seem to catch a break. He’s constantly hunted by powerful villains, battling inner turmoil, and working through typical teenage angst, all while trying to solve the mystery of his parents’ death. Unfortunately, he has to add “surviving a mediocre Blu-Ray release” to his long list of life struggles. In director Marc Webb’s second installment of the retooled franchise, The Amazing S ...

Andrew Garfield Says Studio Notes Hurt ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2′

Sep 11 2014 9:00am CDT | Source: slash film

The Spider-Man films have represented a diminishing set of returns, for Sony on the domestic financial front (though we don’t have all data for long-tail revenue) and for audiences in terms of satisfaction. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 often felt surprisingly derivative of Sam Raimi’s own Spider-Man 2. When it did explore new territory, the story threads were unconvincing. More than anything else, this latest film felt as if it was the product ...
