Warner Bros announce Superman/Batman movie

Jul 20 2013, 6:12pm CDT | by Bang Movies

Warner Bros. have revealed plans for a Superman/Batman movie.

The follow up to 'Man of Steel' starring Henry Cavill is being written by director Zack Snyder and will feature an as-yet-uncast Batman.

Speaking at San Diego Comic Con, Zack said: ''I'm so excited to begin working again with Henry Cavill in the world we created, and I can't wait to expand the DC Universe in this next chapter. Let's face it, it's beyond mythological to have Superman and our new Batman facing off, since they are the greatest Super Heroes in the world.''

Greg Silverman, President, Creative Development and Worldwide Production said: ''Zack Snyder is an incredibly talented filmmaker, but beyond that, he's a fan first and he utterly gets this genre. We could not think of anyone better suited to the task of bringing these iconic Super Heroes to the screen in his own way.''

Sue Kroll, President, Worldwide Marketing and International Distribution,Warner Bros. Pictures added: ''We are thrilled to be back in business with Zack and his team on this next movie. The success of 'Man of Steel' is a wonderful testament to the love and support that both fans and new audiences, worldwide, have for these characters. We are very excited to see what Zack has in store for all of us.''

The movie is set to begin production in 2014 with a 2015 release date.

Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder will serve as producers while Christopher Nolan, who directed the most recent Batman trilogy, and Emma Thomas are set to executive produce, along with Benjamin Mel-ker and Michael E. Uslan.

Emma said: ''Whilst our Dark Knight trilogy is complete, we have every confidence that Zack's fresh interpretation will take the character in a new and exciting direction. His vision for Superman opened the door to a whole new universe and we can't wait to see what Zack does with these characters.''

Oct 19 2014 11:18am CDT | Source: Total Film

Batman v Superman might already be packing a seriously over-stacked cast list, but there’s apparently room for one more, with Jena Malone set to appear in the film. According to THR, Malone will feature in a “mystery role”, with no details confirmed as yet regarding who exactly she’ll be playing. Rumour has it that she could be appearing as a female version of Robin, although there’s nothing concrete on that front. A potential headline maker in the works there… Carrie Kelley is anot ...

Whoa! Bad Robot Shows Off the Millennium Falcon with a Bonus Part

Sep 18 2014 11:09am CDT | Source: First Showing

There's been a fun little back and forth between the productions of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and Star Wars: Episode VII over the past few months. Director Zack Snyder kicked it off with a picture of Henry Cavill as a Jedi (inexplicably with a red lightsaber), and went on to create an action figure scene with Batman on Tatooine with R2-D2 and most recently, a Stormtrooper getting caught trying to steal the ...

BATMAN V SUPERMAN Video Sends the Batmobile on a Chase

Sep 18 2014 9:31am CDT | Source: Collider

The past week, Batman v Superman news has been all about the Batmobile, and that trend continues with new video.  Instagram user shiva_honey captured some video of the Batmobile speeding down the street in a high speed chase, and I have to say I'm impressed.  It's a big, clunky vehicle and yet it handles corner without missing a beat.  However, I love the second video where the Batmobile is presumable returning to its starting ...
