Famke Janssen missed X-Men 'party'

Jul 17 2013, 10:18am CDT | by

Famke Janssen feels like she missed the 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' ''party''.

The actress admits she was disappointed not to be asked to reprise her role as Jean Grey in the new superhero film, which reunites many of the cast members from the original 'X-Men' trilogy and director Bryan Singer.

However, the actress is content with having a supporting role as telekinetic Jean in new 'X-Men' spin-off movie, 'The Wolverine', starring Hugh Jackman.

Speaking to BANG Showbiz at the UK premiere of the film in London's Leicester Square on Tuesday (16.07.13), she said: ''I do feel a little bit like I'm missing out on the party. They're all my old friends. I wasn't invited to the party. But then, you know, they weren't invited to 'The Wolverine' party and I was. So there!''

Janssen played Jean Grey and her darker alter-ego Phoenix in the 'X-Men' trilogy between 2000 and 2006, but the character was killed off in the final instalment, 'X-Men: The Last Stand'.

Although she appears in 'The Wolverine' - as a figment of the titular character's imagination - the actress admits she isn't sure if she'll reprise the role a fifth time because of the abundance of female superheroes in the 'X-Men' franchise.

She added: ''When I got this phone call [for 'The Wolverine'] I hoped it would pave the way to new appearances, but the problem, of course, is, there's so many incredible 'X-Men' characters to explore on the female side - and male side - so why would they pick me in the future? I don't know if they will.''

Many of Janssen's former co-stars will appear in 2014's 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' including Jackman, Halle Berry, Sir Patrick Stewart, Sir Ian McKellen, Anna Paquin and Shawn Ashmore.

'The Wolverine' is in cinemas on July 26.

Taken 3 (or, “Liam Neeson With a Gun Pt. 7″) continues to cash-in on the unlikely success of Liam Neeson as an action movie badass with a third installment that will – like The Hangover 3 before it – provide a welcome change of formula from the original film and its carbon-copy sequel. This time around, we know that Bryan Mills (Neeson) will be on the run  after being framed for the murder of his ...

Liam Neeson Knows How to Disappear in the First Trailer for 'Taken 3'

Sep 30 2014 11:40am CDT | Source: First Showing

"I'm going to finish this." At the end of Taken 2, it seemed like Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) was on the path of getting back together with his ex-wife (Famke Janssen) and giving his daughter (Maggie Grace) the love he always wanted her to have. But in the first trailer for Taken 3 (or Tak3n if you want to be clever), we see that all that is cut short when Mills is framed for the murder of his ex-w ...

Sep 28 2014 3:37pm CDT | Source: Total Film

A first international poster has landed for Tak3n, the third instalment in Olivier Megaton’s popular action series, in which Liam Neeson returns to smash some more terrorist skulls. The new poster features Bryan Mills standing underneath what appears to be a Hollywood Hills-style sign, focusing on the “3” from the new title. Speaking of which, we can’t say we’re hugely enamoured with the film’s new moniker, but the studio certainly seem to be pushing it for all its worth here… As to t ...
