Paramount plots World War Z sequel

Jun 24 2013, 10:30am CDT | by

Paramount is developing a 'World War Z' sequel.

The movie studio is reportedly set to produce a sequel to the zombie thriller starring Brad Pitt after it took over $118.8 million at the worldwide box office during its opening week, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Paramount vice chairman Rob Moore confirmed the studio will ''actively turn to developing a sequel.''

Moore also praised the film's star and producer with promoting the movie extensively.

He said: ''The great thing about this process was that it showed what a great partner and producer Brad is. He made a true commitment.''

Pitt - who plays main character Gerry Lane - is also confident the first movie can lead to a franchise because there is much more to explore in the cinematic zombie world.

He previously said: ''It's set up for many sequels because the book is so dense with information and historical references, and it's an international story.

''There are so many things we could do with this - if it works. But we need this one to work - which we think it does.''

The actor helped market the film by surprising fans at screenings around the world and has jetted across the globe to attend various premieres for the movie.

Matthew McConaughey Looks to the Stars in Another INTERSTELLAR Poster, While Brad Pitt Is Bruised in New FURY Poster

Sep 17 2014 1:49pm CDT | Source: Collider

New posters for two of the most anticipated films of the year have arrived online.  Hot on the heels of yesterday’s icy one sheet, another new Interstellar poster grounds Matthew McConaughey on Earth in director Christopher Nolan’s sci-fi film.  It pairs nicely with yesterday’s space-set poster, and also focuses on what looks to be the emotional hook of the story: a father-daughter relationship.  I’m more than sold on this movie already, so now I’m just counting down the days until the pic’s ...

Girl With the Dragon Tattoo Sequel Will Be 'Extremely Different' than the Book - But WHY?

Sep 15 2014 6:41pm CDT | Source: movie pilot

Making movies based on beloved novels is always a really tricky business. If you adhere too closely to the story, you might run the risk of making a movie with no real vision that doesn't necessarily adapt well to the screen. But if you deviate too much, you run the risk of angering the built-in fanbase of loyal readers who feel you've changed what they loved about the story in the first place. Apparently, director D ...

This fall brings the release of Gone Girl, David Fincher‘s first theatrical release since 2011′s The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. The latter is definitely dead at this point, with Fincher even offering up an explanation as to where things went wrong. The director sounded a bit more optim ...

‘Fury’ UK Trailer: Brad Pitt & Logan Lerman Battle Impossible Odds

Sep 8 2014 3:50pm CDT | Source: screen rant

Production on upcoming historical tank drama Fury wasn’t entirely smooth, according to rumors that supporting actor Shia LaBeouf refused to wash throughout the shoot in order to get closer to his character, and complaints about battle scenes being filmed on Remembrance Sunday. Much like the resilient M4A3E8 Sherman tank after which it is named, however, Fury powered through and will be rolling into theaters next ...

It’s been quite a while since we got that first trailer for David Ayer’s Fury, but now we’ve got a brand new international one and it’s as explosive as ever.  Brad Pitt leads as Wardaddy, an army sergeant and tank commander with Bible (Shia LaBeouf), Gordo (Michael Pena), Coonass (Jon Bernthal) and the group newbie, Norman (Logan Lerman), under his command.
