Man of Steel sequel in the works

A 'Man of Steel' sequel is already in the works.

Despite the Superman reboot only hitting cinemas this Friday (14.06.13), producers have already begun planning a follow-up film to the caped crime-fighter's adventures.

According to Deadline.com, Zack Snyder has agreed to reprise his role as director and David S. Goyer will return screenwriter.

This comes as no surprise since Goyer has signed a three-picture deal with movie studio Warner Bros. for 'Man Of Steel', its sequel, and a rumoured 'Justice League' movie, which would see Superman team up with DC Comics' best-loved superheroes including Batman and Wonder Woman.

It is being reported that producer Christopher Nolan's role won't be as ''full blown'' in the sequel due to prior filming commitments.

'Man of Steel' stars rising star Henry Cavill as the titular hero, whose human alter-ego Clark Kent falls for journalist Lois Lane, played by Amy Adams. Michael Shannon will portray villain General Zod, while Russell Crowe and Kevin Costner take on the roles of Superman's biological father Jor-El and his adoptive father Jonathan Kent, respectively.

Amy recently revealed fans would be blown away with Synder's brand new imagining of the classic comic book tale and the love story between Clark and Lois.

She said: ''It's more raw, a little less quippy. Hopefully you'll enjoy the banter and relationship between Lois and Clark, but it's a totally new imagining of the story.''

I Bet You Didn't Know About These Goofs in The Dark Knight

Sep 17 2014 7:39pm CDT | Source: movie pilot

It's safe to say The Dark Knight is beloved. In fact, it's beyond beloved, not only for Christopher Nolan's brilliant twist on the Batman mythos, but also for Heath Ledger's legendary performance as The Joker. But even so, it wasn't a perfect movie - no movie can ever possibly be perfect; there are too many moving pieces. Did you miss these goofs the first time (or the 83rd time) you watched The Dark Knight? I bet you did. THE JOKER'S HAIR COLOR During the openi ...

New posters for two of the most anticipated films of the year have arrived online.  Hot on the heels of yesterday’s icy one sheet, another new Interstellar poster grounds Matthew McConaughey on Earth in director Christopher Nolan’s sci-fi film.  It pairs nicely with yesterday’s space-set poster, and also focuses on what looks to be the emotional hook of the story: a father-daughter relationship.  I’m more than sold on this movie alread ...

‘Interstellar’ Cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema Will Shoot ‘Bond 24′

Sep 17 2014 10:30am CDT | Source: slash film

Normally we’d have a large measure of sympathy for anyone who had to take over a job following Roger Deakins. And since Deakins isn’t shooting the new Bond film, someone has to step into his shoes. But the person to take over the job shooting Bond 24 is Hoyte van Hoytema, who did such a tremendous job with Her, and then shot Interstellar for Christopher Nolan. So things are probably going to work out just fine. There’s another good det ...

Bond 24 finds replacement for Roger Deakins

Sep 17 2014 12:46am CDT | Source: Total Film

Bond 24 looks to have found a replacement for cinematographer Roger Deakins, with Dutchman Hoyte van Hoytema set to sign on as director of photography. It was something of a disappointment to hear that Deakins would not be returning to the fold after doing such a stellar job on Skyfall, although van Hoytema certainly comes with real pedigree. Having made waves with his work on the original Let The Right One In, he recently worked on both Tinker Tailer Sold ...

"Bond 24" Gets A New Cinematographer

Sep 16 2014 9:30pm CDT | Source: Dark Horizons

Though it got great notices, without a doubt the most universally acclaimed element of the Sam Mendes-directed 2012 James Bond film "Skyfall" was that of the visual work and compositions of cinematographer Roger Deakins. Sadly Mendes couldn't get Deakins back for the upcoming "Skyfall" due to his commitment to the Coens' upcoming "Hail, Caesar". It's a fair enough scheduling conflict tho ...

It was incredibly disappointing to hear that cinematographer Roger Deakins would not be returning for Bond 24 after doing such a stunning job on Skyfall.  However, as production on the next Bond installment is poised to get underway in December, director Sam Mendes has now settled on Deakins’ replacement, and it’s an excellent choice.  In Contention reports that Hoyte van Hoytema will be the cinematographer on Bond 24, marking yet another fantastic notch in what’s becomin ...

A new Interstellar poster debuted today, showing Matthew McConaughey's character Cooper walking on another planet — or possibly a moon. The one-sheet seen above doesn't give much away, though it does feature the tagline: "The end of Earth will not be the end of us." Filmmaker Christopher Nolan is keeping everything else pretty much under wraps for his latest flick. Along with McConaughey, Interstellar stars Je ...

Sep 16 2014 10:33am CDT | Source: movies.com

And here come the fall blockbusters! Earlier this week we devoured the first full-length trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1, and now comes a new, intriguing poster for Christopher Nolan's Interstellar that finds star Matthew McConaughey going for a nice, unassuming stroll through the snow. Thing is, he ain't on earth -- as evidenced by the astronaut suit he's wearing. So where is he, what does this place have to ...
