Get On Up Exclusive: Tate Taylor Brings James Brown Story To Life

Jul 31 2014 3:02pm CDT | Source: movie fanatic

When director Tate Taylor was deciding how he would follow up The Help, he told us in our exclusive interview, he never thought it would be the James Brown biopic Get On Up. For one, the entire effort would ride on casting. But, given his love of casting actors (his favorite part of the director’s job) and how he scored in that department with The Help, he thought he might be able to find the perfect James Brown. Jul 31 2014 1:47pm CDT | Source: Deadline

This is a title with a relatively unknown actor in the lead (Chris Pratt) and about minor characters in the Marvel Universe, so this is relying quite heavily on the Marvel brand. Will they wish they had Bradley Cooper in the starring role an ...

Jul 17 2014 12:44pm CDT | Source: Deadline

TCA: ABC’s Paul Lee On Diversity, Cable Vs. Broadcast & ‘Trophy Wife’s Cancellation

Jul 15 2014 2:02pm CDT | Source: Deadline

“Is this a therapy session?,” ABC president Paul Lee asked jokingly after another long-winded question about the network’s new series. That about sums up an uneventful executive session, which also could double as a drinking game over the great number of times the words “diversity” and “specificity” were repeated. There was not a single mention of ABC’s ratings woes but the diversity of the network’s new slate, which includes comedies about a Black family (Black-ish), Asian family (Fres ...
