Keira Knightley in Laggies talks

May 7 2013, 3:54am CDT | by

Keira Knightley is in talks to star in 'Laggies'.

The 'Anna Karenina' actress is reportedly set to take on the lead role alongside Sam Rockwell and Chloe Moretz in the film, replacing 'Les Miserables' star Anne Hathaway, who had previously been in negotiations for the project.

However, the 'Devil Wears Prada' actress' work on Christopher Nolan's sci-fi film 'Interstellar' will overlap with production on 'Laggies', meaning she was unable to commit.

The film follows a young woman who reacts badly to her boyfriend's marriage proposal. She tells him she is off on a business retreat, but instead hides out with her new friend, 16-year-old Annika.

'Laggies' has been written by Andrea Seigel and will be directed by 'Your Sister's Sister' filmmaker Lynn Shelton.

Steve Golin, Alix Madigan and Rosalie Swedlin are producing for Anonymous Content.

The 'Seeking A Friend For The End of the World' actress can next be seen with Chris Pine in 'Jack Ryan', which is released in December, and alongside James Corden and Mark Ruffalo in 'Can A Song Save Your Life?'.
