'Trust Me' was supposed to be a comedy

Apr 22 2013, 8:06pm CDT | by

'Trust Me' was originally intended to be a goofy comedy about Hollywood.

Clark Gregg - who wrote, directed and stars in the movie - admitted he meant to pen a humourous tale and only realised when he had finished his first draft that the film, about a low-rent former child star who now represents other young actors, had a much darker tone.

He told the Huffington Post: ''I thought I was writing a goofy comedy about the business ...

''I mean, I don't feel like it changes at the end. I feel like there's a gradually evolving darker component. But, yeah, it came blazing out of me, and I saw when I read it back, 'Oh, this is different.' This is representative of my ambivalent feelings that I have about Hollywood and about kind of the distorted concept of stardom. Especially in this celebrity-obsessed moment.''

Clark celebrated the world premiere of the film at the CIROC vodka sponsored 2013 Tribeca Film Festival in New York over the weekend, along with co-stars Felicity Huffman, Amanda Peet and Sarah Paulson.

Speaking about CIROC's involvement with the festival recently, the brand's Sean 'Diddy' Combs, said: ''CIROC Vodka and I are very excited to support the Tribeca Film Festival in its mission to celebrate film by connecting fans and filmmakers through their shared passion for storytelling.

''Celebration is at the heart of our brand and we appreciate the opportunity to showcase this passion through partnerships like TFF.''

‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Season 2 Promos: Fight in the Shadows

Sep 1 2014 8:45am CDT | Source: Screen Rant

There will be multiple comic book-inspired television series to choose from during the upcoming fall TV season; most of them are new to the airwaves, but there are a couple of returnees, including Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. series. The show’s first season was, for many, a decidedly mixed bag that nonetheless ultimately managed to (arguably) justify its season two renewal - in part based on the expectation that the second lap of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s run goes smo ...

AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Hires Adrianne Palicki to Guest Star as Bobbi Morse a.k.a Mockingbird

After the incredibly disappointing first season of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. the series is returning with a new gameplan: guest stars, guest stars, and guest stars.  Kyle MacLachlan is playing Skye's father; Lucy Lawless is playing veteran S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Isabelle Hartley; and Reed Diamond is playing Hydra baddie Daniel Whitehall (a.k.a Kraken).  THR is now reporting that Adrianne Palicki will be making an appearance th ...

AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 2 Set Video Might Confirm a Plot Rumor

Aug 14 2014 11:10am CDT | Source: Collider

Admittedly, I gave up on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. four episodes in so have little to no clue about what went down towards the end of season 1, but apparently something popped up to make viewers think that a new element of the Marvel Universe could be joining the show.  In fact, someone shot a video of the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 2 set and caught a glimpse of a certain something that could prove the rumors true. Hit the jump to check out the vid ...

Damn fine cherry spies? After a successful transfusion of energy from Bill Paxton last season, Marvel’s Agents Of SHIELD has decided to draft someone else who has been better known for ‘80s and 90s performances. Kyle MacLachlan has joined the cast in a pivotal role.Part of the big mystery – if we’re brutally honest, one of the less compelling parts – of the first year’s shows was the identity of hacker Skye’s (Chloe ...

Marvel’s AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Have Fun Despite the Best Efforts of Hydra in This Season 1 Blooper Reel

Jul 28 2014 7:35pm CDT | Source: Collider

Season one of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is all wrapped up for the year, but the super spies have one last treat for their faithful viewers.  While the show definitely had some growing pains (chronicled by our own Evan Valentine's weekly recaps) and plenty of unintentionally hilarious moments, this new blooper reel is an absolute delight.  Watch Clark Gregg get attacked by a rogue fly, Ming-Na Wen get tongue-tied, and Chloe Bennet welcome you to ...
