Ewan McGregor wants Star Wars spin-off film

Ewan McGregor wants his own 'Star Wars' spin-off film.

The sci-fi franchise's producers are reportedly planning several standalone films while 'Episode VII' - which is being directed by 'Star Trek: Into Darkness' filmmaker J.J. Abrams - is in production and Ewan would love to reprise his role as Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi, who he played in the three prequel films.

Speaking to MTV News, he said: ''I think it's a good idea. The only bit that I could get away with doing is after the last one I made, 'Episode III,' before Alec Guinness, there's that period where he's in the desert.''

Referring to the period of time in between the two trilogies, where Anakin Skywalker has transformed into villain Darth Vader and before his son Luke Skywalker meets Old Ben Kenobi, Ewan continued: ''That might be my window, there, to tell that story. I don't know what he did in the desert. We could make up some stuff.

''I'd be up for it. Could be quite exciting. I'd be up for it, for sure, of course.''

It was announced last Wednesday (06.02.13) that Walt Disney Pictures, who bought original director George Lucas' company LucasFilm last year - are planning to create a young Han Solo trilogy, originally played by Harrison Ford, and another spin-off following the adventures of bounty hunter Boba Fett.

Disney chief Bob Iger confirmed: ''We plan to make 'Star Wars' 7, 8 and 9 over roughly a six-year period of time starting in 2015.

''But there are going to be a few other films released in that period of time, too.''

Don't Expect Tackle In "Fifty Shades" Film

Nov 3 2014 5:09am CST | Source: Dark Horizons

In an age where various pornographic Youtube equivalents and free-to-access websites mean anyone can see various sex acts from bukakke to tromboning with just a few keystrokes, the novel sensation "Fifty Shades of Grey" seems rather tame. The sex itself may have been the selling point, but the story is more about the power play that take place within an S&M relationship. The most extreme elements involve spanking and a nasty scen ...

Jack O’Connell May End Up in Terry Gilliam’s ‘The Man Who Killed Don Quixote’

Oct 24 2014 1:30pm CDT | Source: slash film

Jack O’Connell may well be the next big guy to watch. After his stint on Skins, he showed up in 300: Rise of an Empire and ’71, and received rave notes for his work in Starred Up. Holding the lead role in Angelina Jolie’s Unbroken means that half the families in the US are going to know his face after that film opens at Christmas. And now he might be the man for Terry Gilliam — The Man Who Killed Don Quixote. He w ...

By the Eye of Agamotto!: Why Does No One Want To Play Doctor Strange?

Oct 20 2014 8:21pm CDT | Source: movie pilot

We can all agree Marvel's casting carousel for the upcoming Doctor Strange has been, um, well...I don't think it would be incorrect to use the word "clusterf**k". Virtually every single A-lister who even remotely resembles the Sorcerer Supreme has been at least briefly attached to the role, including Jon Hamm, Mads Mikkelsen, Johnny Depp, Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jared Leto (cringe), Justin T ...
