Juno Temple celebrates BAFTA win with family

Feb 11 2013, 4:18am CST | by

Juno Temple was named the EE Rising Star at the BAFTA Awards last night (10.02.13) and she celebrated her win with her family and ''loads of champagne''.

The 23-year-old actress walked away with the prize - the only accolade at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards to be voted for by the public - at the ceremony at London's Royal Opera House and admitted she wanted to enjoy her victory with her parents, producer Amanda Pirie and film director Julien Temple, because without their support she wouldn't have been able to launch her career.

She said: ''I've got a lot of amazing people that help me make the right decisions, they're my family and friends. It doesn't always go your way ... It's definitely hard. It's definitely lonely. But it is the most rewarding thing and I am so lucky to have the job I have ... I'm going to make sure I am with people that I love and drink loads of champagne.''

Juno - who has appeared in 'Killer Joe', 'Atonement' and 'The Dark Knight Rises' - also thanked her parents for allowing her to move to Los Angeles so she could work hard to break into Hollywood.

She told the Metro newspaper: ''They were very supportive of me going to LA because they have known it. I am enjoying it. It's really great for work. You have a lot of auditions. It really benefits you being in the room there.''

Juno beat Andrea Riseborough, Alicia Vikander, Elizabeth Olsen and Suraj Sharma to the prize, which recognises the hottest new talent in cinema and was created in honour of the late Mary Selway, the highly respected BAFTA-winning casting director.

Pippa Harris - Deputy Chair of BAFTA's Film Committee and Chair of the Jury for the EE Rising Star Award - congratulated the young starlet on her win and hopes her victory will signal an exciting time in her career.

Pippa said: ''It has been a fantastic year for emerging film talent and all the nominees clearly have star quality. Congratulations to Juno I hope this award marks the beginning of a new and exciting chapter in her career.''

Clearly, when the movie is called Horns, star Daniel Radcliffe knew he would have to sport a pair for a large part of the shoot. "The first time I saw them on it was a combination of relief because they looked fantastic and excitement, because when you have something stuck to your head that can go either way,” Radcliffe told Movie Fanatic. “They looked really normal and like really quickly. It has the potential to look silly, and it really doesn’t. The word “organic” is one of my ...

HORNS Review

Oct 31 2014 9:10am CDT | Source: Collider

Everyone has got some ugliness deep down in our souls.  It may be a fleeting thought or repressed anger, but good people try to keep it hidden, which isn't a bad thing.  It makes us human, and without that humanity, our brutal honesty shines through.  Alexandre Aja's Horns tries to explore this inner darkness by weaving together religion, salvation, damnation, and dark secrets, and the movi ...
