Jack Reynor wants Michael Fassbender collaboration

Jack Reynor wants to work with Michael Fassbender.

The 'Transformers 4' newcomer has high hopes of teaming up with the 'Shame' star in the future after meeting his fellow Irish actor, who he described as one of his ultimate ''heroes''.

He told BANG Showbiz at the London Evening Standard British Film Awards last night (04.02.13): ''I'd love to do a film with Michael Fassbender. He's one of my heroes. I think he's absolutely amazing and I would love to do a project with him.

''He's actually working with the director of my last film, Lenny Abrahamson, on a film called 'Frank' at the moment and it's going to be amazing! I've got a huge amount of respect for Michael. I've met him before, really great guy. Really lovely Irish dude!''

The up-and-coming actor also revealed landing the lead in Michael Bay's robot adventure 'Transformers 4' was a big thrill because the franchise taps into his boyhood fantasies.

Jack explained: ''I'm nervous about it and I'm really excited. I haven't been in touch with [co-star] Mark Wahlberg yet, but I think its going to be a lot of fun.

''I was a big fan of it before - I mean, what young guy doesn't like watching things being blown up and really good looking girls and cars racing round the place?''

However, the 21-year-old actor admitted he can longer enjoy nights out in Dublin like he used to because his newfound fame has earned him an army of female fans.

Jack said: ''It can be funny if I go into McDonalds on O'Connell street at 3'oclock in the morning, it's a little different to what it was! I guess it can be tough, but if you love doing this as much as I do it's a small price to pay.''

The 40th Evening Standard British Film Awards were held in association with the London Film Museum, supported by Chopard and Moet & Chandon.

Rumor: Activision Forming Movie Studio Division

Aug 19 2014 2:00pm CDT | Source: Slash Film

Looks like Activision likes the way Ubisoft is doing business. Not in the video game space; there, Activision has Ubi beat. But when it comes to creating movies based on original game titles, Ubi seems like it has a good thing going. The company started handling development of game to film projects via an internal division, and that led to projects such as Assassin’s Creed with Michael Fassbender and Splinter Cell with Tom Hardy, among ...

FRANK Review

Aug 15 2014 10:27am CDT | Source: Collider

[This is a re-post of my review from the 2014 Sundance Film Festival.  Frank opens today in limited release.] “He’s the sanest person I’ve ever met,” band manager Don (Scott McNairy) tells keyboardist Jon (Domhnall Gleeson) about their lead singer and songwriter, Frank (Michael Fassbender). Frank wears a giant fake head that he never takes off. Lenny Abrahamson’s Frank is a funny, warm, thoughtful s ...

Video Games & Movies: Blurred Lines

Aug 13 2014 7:07pm CDT | Source: movie pilot

This post is simply my opinion, but I do my damnedest to try and back up my thoughts with film facts. So, to all reading, please, stick through to the end and comment your thoughts.I've always wondered why the transition from video games to film is so bad more times than not, and to this day, I still have no idea. What is it that makes video game films so bad? Is it the change in the story? Is it the setting of the epic tale? Is it the ...

Michael Fassbender Says ‘Assassin’s Creed’ Aims to Respect the Games

Aug 11 2014 1:30pm CDT | Source: Slash Film

Video game movies get a bad rap, often for good reason, but there’s reason to hope for the best with some of UbiSoft’s upcoming projects. The game publisher has been directly involved with developing a whole slate of films based on its game titles, and hiring great talent to make the films a reality. Assassin’s Creed, for example, will star Michael Fassbender. The actor is also producing, and working with direct ...

Michael Fassbender on Status of ‘Assassin’s Creed’ Movie

Aug 9 2014 8:41am CDT | Source: screen rant

Adapting a hit video game franchise for the big screen is always tricky. Case in point, most films based on video games are considered weak in comparison, and even fewer manage to develop into long-standing film franchises (Resident Evil being a notable exception). So when acclaimed actor Michael Fassbender became attached to produce and star in the film version of  popular Assassin’s Creed game series, fans breathed a sigh of relief that perhaps – th ...
