Amanda Seyfried comfortable with risque Lovelace role

Feb 4 2013, 4:08am CST | by

Amanda Seyfried has no qualms about playing an adult film star in 'Lovelace'.

The 'Les Miserables' actress jumped at the chance to star in Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman's biopic about infamous porn actress Linda Lovelace because she was a fan of the directors and knew the raunchy tale would be a stress-free experience.

She explained: ''There would have been hesitation had it been some other director. Had it been a poorly-written script I wouldn't have done it. The script was perfect and the directors were already attached and that was all I needed.

''There are a lot of scripts that you can like, but rarely are there directors attached when you're in development with something and that's stressful. I'm looking for a director right now to film a movie that I want to do this summer, and it's really stressful because you can't make the movie until you have one and then you can't even think about casting.''

The film centres around real-life actress Linda who rose to fame in the adult entertainment industry under the influence of her abusive husband and self-declared manager, until she renounced her career and became an activist for exploited women.

Amanda admits she doesn't know exactly who the film will appeal to, but she felt ''safe'' shooting some of the more risqué scenes and believed it was an important story to tell.

She told Collider: ''That was a package that was already put together and after I met them with their whole bag of tricks I was like, 'I feel safe. I feel like this is going to be very quality. I don't know who's going to see it, I don't know what's going to happen when it comes out, but I know I will have an incredible personal experience making this movie'.''

New TED 2 Image Promises More Flash Gordon

Sep 12 2014 4:55pm CDT | Source: Collider

While Seth MacFarlane’s second feature directorial effort, A Million Ways to Die in the West, was a bit of a bust at the box office, it’s likely that his third film will do just fine.  The Family Guy creator is currently in production on the comedy sequel Ted 2, and considering the R-rated first film made over $500 million at the worldwide box office, it’s safe to assume that interest is high for the follow-up.  We still don’t really know much about the pic other than the fact that Mila ...

First Look at ‘Ted 2′ Features More Flash Gordon

Sep 12 2014 4:30pm CDT | Source: Slash Film

A lot of things about Seth MacFarlane‘s 2012 film Ted could be considered a surprise. The fact it was such a huge hit for one. Ted grossed $218 million domestic against a budget of $50 million and became one of the top 10 highest grossing R rated comedies of all time. Personally though, the biggest surprise was the way MacFarlane used Flash Gordon in the film. Both Ted and Mark Wahlberg’s character, John, were fans of ...

It came as no surprise when Universal announced that Ted, Seth MacFarlane’s raunchy comedy about a sentient teddy bear who grows up alongside his owner, was going to get a sequel.
