Charlize Theron to star in A Million Ways To Die?

Jan 31 2013, 10:08am CST | by

Charlize Theron is in talks to star in 'A Million Ways To Die'.

The 'Snow White and the Huntsman' actress is in discussions with 'Ted' director Seth MacFarlane in regards to his new feature, a western comedy resembling the classic 'Blazing Saddles', The Hollywood Reporter claims.

As well as directing and writing the film, Seth is also set to star in the film about a timid farmer whose wife leaves after he refuses to take part in a gunfight.

The synopsis reads: ''When he meets the wife of a notorious outlaw who offers to teach him how to shoot, the farmer at first sees a chance to win back his love but slowly falls for the woman.

''Complications ensue when the outlaw returns and reclaims his woman.''

Production of the film is scheduled to begin in May.

Before then, Seth is hosting the Oscars alongside 'The Help' actress Emma Stone at Hollywood's Kodak Theatre on February 24 and the funnyman recently admitted his plans to ''target'' some of the famous stars who attend the ceremony.

Speaking about the nominations being revealed, he joked: ''Well, it allows us to get more specific because we were working with a knowledge of what movies were out there and what movies were most likely to get nominated, but we had no list of actual nominees.

''Today, that all changed. We have a list to work with. We have some targets for our jokes and we can really start digging into it.''

And there's plenty of jokes in the movie about that, but the heart of it is actually a bit sweeter. It's essentially about a bumbling, complaining man (Seth MacFarlane) finding ...

A Million Ways to Die in the West DVD Review: Does It Top Ted?

Oct 8 2014 3:53pm CDT | Source: movie fanatic

Seth MacFarlane had an out-of-nowhere hit with Ted a few years back and he followed that up with a western comedy, A Million Ways to Die in the West. We rather enjoyed the film, as you can tell from our theatrical A Million Ways to Die in the West review, but it didn’t quite hit a Ted-like mark with audiences. Perhaps it was because of the uber-competitive summer movie season? Well, now A Million Ways to Die in the West has come home on DVD, Blu-Ray a ...

David Fincher is a busy man. He’s developing a stateside adaptation of the Channel 4 drama Utopia with Gone Girl author Gillian Flynn for HBO. And he’s had a slew of other projects in holding, including the serial killer series Mind Hunter with Charlize Theron -- also for the same cable network. And if that weren’t enough, the director is now looking to add a classic crime noir to his full plate.   The Playlist reports that Fincher and author James E ...
