Steven Spielberg named Filmmaker of the Year

Steven Spielberg will receive the ACE Golden Eddie Filmmaker of the Year Award.

The Oscar-nominated director is due to be honoured for his ''masterpiece'' of cinematography, 'Lincoln', by the Board of Directors of the American Cinema Editors during the 63rd annual ACE Eddie Awards on February 16.

The ACE Board of Directors said in a statement: ''Steven Spielberg is a cinematic treasure. For over four decades he has been moving audiences around the world with his unique, powerful brand of storytelling.

''As one of the most successful directors in history, he has brought us beloved films, which have not only delighted us but have been indelibly woven into our cultural fabric.

''Throughout it all, he has worked side by side with the great Michael Kahn, ACE, forming a director-editor partnership that has lasted decades. It is our pleasure to recognise him with the 'ACE Golden Eddie Filmmaker of the Year' honour, especially in a year where he has, once again, created a masterpiece with his latest film, 'Lincoln'.''

The ACE Eddie Awards celebrates the year's best editing in nine categories of film, television and documentaries. The honorary society of film editors is formed of more than 700 editors working in film and television.

Aug 8 2014 8:41pm CDT | Source: movie pilot

Pee-wee's Big Adventure:Even in a live-action movie starring Pee-wee Herman, Tim Burton couldn't resist his tendency to burn an unholy computer-generated image onto the retinas of his viewers. In the midst of his journey to reclaim his stolen bike, Pee-wee hitches a ride on the ghostly tractor trailer of Large Marge. TMNT Star Megan Fox Tells Fanboy Haters to Fuck Off

Aug 4 2014 10:23am CDT | Source: beyond hollywood

That got everyone pissed off at her, including, of all people, Steven Spielberg. It also got her fired from the third “Transformers” movie. But Fox and Bay have since made up, and the director eventually cast her as April O’Neill in his upcoming reboot of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.” (Bay i ...
