Marvel to make Doctor Strange film

Marvel will adapt 'Doctor Strange' for the big screen.

The iconic studios have announced their plan to make a film based on the comic book magician and claim the project will be an integral part of Phase Three, the next stage of their cinematic superhero line-up.

Kevin Feige, Marvel's president of production, told MTV: ''Doctor

Strange, which I've been talking about for years, is definitely one of

them. He's a great, original character, and he checks the box off this criteria that I have: he's totally different from anything else we

have, just like 'Guardians Of The Galaxy'.

''He's totally different from anything we've done before, as is

Ant-Man, which keeps us excited.''

Dr Stephen Strange, a character created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko in the 60s, is a neurosurgeon who loses control of his hands before being taught mystic arts in the Himalayas and transforming himself into 'the mightiest magician in the cosmos'.

Following smash hit 'The Avengers', Kevin confirmed Phase Three will change things up by showcasing lesser-known superheroes and 'Ant-Man' will definitely be in the mix, with Edgar Wright' behind the camera.

He explained: ''Ant-Man is definitely part of Phase Three. Like 'Iron

Man 3', it's certainly set in the Marvel Universe, but it's also through the lens of Edgar Wright - which is the only reason we're making the movie.

''I've known Edgar since our first lunch together at Comic-Con in 2004.

He asked me what Marvel was doing with Ant-Man -- we weren't even a studio then; what a difference eight years makes!

''It's very much an Ant-Man origin movie from the perspective of Edgar Wright and his co-writer Joe Cornish. It will of course be firmly planted in the MCU, but a different corner than we've seen before.''

Oct 29 2014 1:35pm CDT | Source: Collider

One of my favorite movies of 2014 is opening this weekend: writer-director Dan Gilroy's debut feature, Nightcrawler.  In the film, Jake Gyllenhaal plays Lou Bloom, a guy desperate to score a job.  While on the hunt, Lou stumbles across a “nightcrawler,” someone who captures footage of fires, murders and all sorts of chaos to sell to new stations and Lou comes to the conclusion that the gig is perfect for him.  While I ...

It’s been a long time coming, but we’re finally getting Black Panther on the big screen with Chadwick Boseman in the title role. The film has bounced around for over a decade, with John Singleton as director then Wesley Snipes as star then nothing but stall outs and brick walls. Now the character, credited as the first black superhero (created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1966), finds himself an important piece of Marvel’s future Avengers plans-- ...

Don't Expect the Same Avengers to Assemble After Avengers: Age of Ultron

Oct 27 2014 3:27pm CDT | Source: Coming Soon

"The Old Order Changeth!" Stan Lee famously set as the title for "The Avengers" #16 (a nod to Alfred Tennyson's "Morte d'Arthur"). That issue, which hit the stands in 1965, offered the first roster shift for Marvel's mighty superhero team. Now, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige confirms to Buzzfeed that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is likely to follow suite in ...
