'Race 2' collects Rs.51.35 crore over first weekend

New Delhi, Jan 28 (IANS) Abbas-Mustan's "Race 2" might have opened to mixed reviews, but the film seems to be minting money at the box office. The action thriller has managed to earn Rs.51.35 crore in its opening weekend.

New Delhi, Jan 28 — Abbas-Mustan's "Race 2" might have opened to mixed reviews, but the film seems to be minting money at the box office. The action thriller has managed to earn Rs.51.35 crore in its opening weekend.

Made at Rs.60 crore, the film released across 3,200 screens. It went on to earn Rs.15.12 crore Friday, Rs.20.72 crore Saturday and Rs.15.51 crore Sunday.

The movie is a sequel to 2008 film "Race".

While Saif Ali Khan and Anil Kapoor reprise their roles, the the new additions to the franchise are John Abraham, Deepika Padukone, Jacqueline Fernandez and Ameesha Patel.
