Kristen Stewart says dancing in 'On The Road' was more difficult than appearing nude.

The 22-year-old actress was far more intimidated by the complex footwork required for the romantic on-screen dance with her co-star Garett Hedlund than she was about stripping off for the explicit sex scenes in her new movie.

She told W magazine: ''Everyone asks about the nude scenes in 'On the Road', but I also had to dance, and dancing is harder than being naked. My character, Marylou, is so exuberant, and I had five minutes to do something that showed she was sort of like the craziest motherf**ker around.

''In the book, it says, 'Dean takes Marylou and they do a love dance and no one can take their eyes off them.' It's one sentence. And I was mad-intimidated by it. We did the dance four times to the song 'Salt Peanuts.' By the end, I was as red as a fire truck. I was holding onto Garrett because I was going to fall over. I almost passed out every single time.''

'Twilight' beauty Kristen previously admitted she wasn't surprised by the public's obsessive interest in her raunchy role as Marylou in Walter Salles' adaptation of Jack Kerouac's classic novel.

She said: ''People are really predictable. I completely expected that. I can't say it's not a little bit jarring, but it's jarring in the right way. I wanted it to be. I'm really proud of it.''
