David Fincher in talks for Gone Girl

Jan 23 2013, 10:45am CST | by

David Fincher is in talks to direct a big screen adaptation of 'Gone Girl'.

20th Century Fox recently bought the film rights to Gillian Flynn's bestselling novel about a woman who disappears on the morning of her fifth wedding anniversary, and the Oscar-nominated 'The Social Network' director is now in line to helm the project.

The novel has garnered much buzz including positive reviews from critics and strong sales around the world, enough to catch the attention of Oscar-winning actress Reese Witherspoon, whose production company bought the rights along with Fox.

Reese will produce the film while author Gillian will pen the first draft of the script.

David is no stranger to adaptations with strong female characters; his last movie was the 2011 English-language adaptation of Stieg Larsson's 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' starring Rooney Mara in the sought-after role of Lisbeth Salander.

The director is currently developing Jules Verne's '20,000 Leagues Under the Sea' for Disney.

'Gone Girl', which is a New York Times Bestseller, follows Amy Dunne, whose secret life is uncovered through a series of diary entries after she vanishes on her fifth wedding anniversary and her husband, Nick, becomes a suspect in her disappearance. The book is structured with each chapter alternating between the point of view of husband and wife.

Mark Ruffalo May Star in a COLUMBO Movie

Jul 16 2014 12:12pm CDT | Source: Collider

US director David Fincher and US actress
Now here’s an odd pairing that somehow makes a lot of sense.  The TV series Columbo ran sporadically for a period between 1968 and 2003, amounting to a number of mystery specials that were lead by Peter Falk as the titular disheveled yet highly gifted detective.  The mystery series was beloved for its affable lead and engaging whodunits, and now it may be resurrected with a rather curious choice to take ov ...

Comic Con 2014 Saturday Schedule Features Marvel Studio, Warner Bros., Legendary and ‘Fight Club’

Jul 12 2014 3:29pm CDT | Source: slash film

In previous years, Saturday is the biggest at San Diego Comic-Con. That’s because while many people have 4-day passes, lots work during the week and can only come down for one day. Saturday. So that’s the day studios generally fight over to show their latest films. When the biggest stars sign autographs and the coolest collectibles are released. Saturday at Comic-Con is the best. This year though, the schedule is surprisingly – maybe even shockingly – light. Hall H stars off stro ...
