Don Jon's Addiction lands deal with Relativity Media

Jan 22 2013, 4:12am CST | by

Joseph Gordon-Levitt's film 'Don Jon's Addiction' has landed a deal with Relativity Media.

The 31-year-old 'Dark Knight Rises' actor has made his directing debut with the upcoming comedy and is now being backed by the production company, who have invested $4 million plus $25 million in prints and advertising to help the film show in 2000 US cinemas this summer.

Joseph stars in the film as online porn addict Jon Martelloe - whose life takes a turn after he leaves the comfort of his laptop to set out on a quest for something more fulfilling - and although creating a mass audience for the storyline was considered a ''long shot'', he is grateful for the support from Relativity.

He told Deadline.com: ''I always intended this to be a movie for a mass popular audience. Everyone told me it was a long shot. Now Relativity is making it happen. I admire them for putting their money where their mouth is. And I couldn't possibly be more grateful.''

The cast includes Brie Larson, Tony Danza, Julianne Moore and Scarlett Johansson - who Joseph has praised as being ''fantastic'' in the film.

He explained: ''Scarlett is fantastic in the movie, you've never seen her do anything like this before. She's got a whole other character - her voice, her nails, everything.''

Why "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For" should have done better.

Sep 8 2014 4:19pm CDT | Source: movie pilot

I’m disappointed by the second Sin City film, but not in the way you think.Last night, after weeks of trying to find someone willing to go with me, I FINALLY got to see Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. I am a fan of the first film, as well as most of Frank Miller’s movie adaptations (except from a HUGELY underwhelming second 300 movie), therefore it was natural that I was eagerly anticipating the release of A Dame to K ...

SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR Review

Aug 21 2014 2:48pm CDT | Source: Collider

In 2005, Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller's Sin City was an interesting novelty.  The directors were able to transfer Miller's visually distinct comics to the screen through the heavy use of CGI.  Not adapt; transfer.  The comic was used as a storyboard, and the directors filled in the gaps by casting a bunch of recognizable actors to play the roles.  For people who argue that adaptations should never stray from the source material, 2005's Sin Ci ...
