Samantha Barks wants to be a Bond girl

Jan 21 2013, 10:06am CST | by

Samantha Barks would love to be a Bond girl.

The 'Les Miserables' actress received critical acclaim for her debut film role as Eponine in the musical drama, but is now hoping to follow in the footsteps of beauties such as Halle Berry, Gemma Arterton and Eva Green by playing a sexy, suave counterpart to 007 actor Daniel Craig.

Speaking to BANG Showbiz at the London Critics Circle Film Awards at the May Fair Hotel on Sunday (20.01.13), she said: ''I've always wanted to play a very kick-ass character at some stage, like a Bond girl. That would be very fun. That's always been a goal in my mind.''

The 22-year-old beauty's success in 'Les Mis' has led to more film offers flooding in, but she played coy about where we might see her next.

She said: ''I do have things lined up. Nothing's been 100 per cent confirmed, so I can't actually talk about them but I'm very excited.''

Speaking of her whirlwind success from reality TV contestant to becoming a Hollywood star, she added: ''It's been a crazy few years. I did [Andrew Lloyd Weber reality show 'Any Dream Will Do'] when I was 17, so to go from there to here now... I did a national tour, then I went into the West End, then to go into a film - it's been mad. It's been so much fun. I feel very lucky to be able to explore so many different areas.''

Sin City 2: Too Long To Wait For A Dame To Kill For! (Review)

Aug 25 2014 8:07pm CDT | Source: movie pilot

Sin City is in my top 10 favorite movies of all time. I can watch it four times in a row. I remember the exact place and time when I first saw it. For nine years I heard Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez were right at the cusp of a sequel but the longer the wait, the higher the expectations. And while they seem to have checked off every important trait for a Frank Miller film (graphic novel design, deep voice narration, splashes of r ...

Watch: 'Sin City: A Dame to Kill For' Footage Without Visual Effects

Aug 25 2014 11:25am CDT | Source: First Showing

Well, nine years later, the audience who enjoyed Sin City in 2005 just doesn't seem to be very interested in the sequel Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, because the film bombed at the box office this past weekend. Personally, I didn't find the film to be terrible, but just more of the same coming far too late. But there are still some cool visuals to be seen (especially Eva Green), and having a mov ...

Review: Sin City: A Dame To Kill For

Aug 22 2014 11:57pm CDT | Source: Dark Horizons

It's been nearly a decade since Robert Rodriguez's stylish adaptation of Frank Miller's Sin City comic book series shook up the megaplexes with a darkly humorous brand of pseudo-noir. Unfortunately, the long-awaited sequel Sin City: A Dame to Kill doesn't prove to be worth the wait. Whereas the first film  was kitschy, ambitious schlock, its sequel is a monotonous, shallow, parody of its predecessor. Rodriguez ...

Shailene Woodley loses Eva GreenLately we've got rather used to seeing Eva Green in femme fatale mode, so it's jarring to find her in Gregg Araki's White Bird In A Blizzard playing the perfect homemaker. SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR Review

Aug 21 2014 2:48pm CDT | Source: Collider

In 2005, Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller's Sin City was an interesting novelty.  The directors were able to transfer Miller's visually distinct comics to the screen through the heavy use of CGI.  Not adapt; transfer.  The comic was used as a storyboard, and the directors filled in the gaps by casting a bunch of recognizable actors to play the roles.  For people who argue that adaptations should never stray from the source material, 2005's Sin City was perfect.  Al ...

Sin City: A Dame To Kill For

Aug 21 2014 2:05pm CDT | Source: Cinema Blend
