Mark Wahlberg wants Ben Affleck collaboration

Jan 17 2013, 10:20am CST | by

Mark Wahlberg wants to work with Ben Affleck.

The 'Ted' actor thinks Golden Globe winner Ben - who picked up the Best Director and Best Motion Picture Drama awards for his drama 'Argo' at the Los Angeles-based ceremony on Sunday evening (13.01.13) - is a supremely talented filmmaker and admits he would love to team up with him in the future, despite their inherent rivalry as Massachusetts-born actors.

Speaking about his competitive relationship with Ben and fellow actor Matt Damon, he told the Boston Herald newspaper: ''I don't throw the compliments around when it comes to other Boston guys. I'll be the first to admit that the three of us are all very competitive; we want to outdo each other.

''But I am very impressed by [Ben's] abilities behind the camera. I am a fan and he's proven himself to be a force of nature. He's got the goods and I want to work with him.''

Mark, 41, grew up in Boston, Massachusetts whereas best friends Ben, 40 and Matt, 42, come from nearby Cambridge, but he is willing to put their hometown rivalry behind them for the sake of Ben's talent and believes the actor-turned-director's Iranian hostage drama deserved its acclaim.

Ben was stunned at his win last weekend, however, telling the crowd during his acceptance speech: ''I'm thrilled about my Globe win. This is an incredible moment in my professional life and is really significant.''

Meanwhile, Mark's next projects include a role in 'Transformers 4', producing a hacker thriller for Universal and starring in the follow-up to last year's smash comedy, 'Ted 2', which he promises will be ''sick''.

Morten Tyldum’s Headhunters follow-up, The Imitation Game, won’t make its big debut until the Toronto International Film Festival in September, but the film is picking up Oscar buzz, so it should come as no surprise that Tyldum has already locked another project, the big screen adaptation of Fredrik T. Olsson’s Chain of Events.  The book doesn’t even arrive until November 4, 2014, but Warner Bros. snatched up the rights last August and is already making moves ...

‘Transformers 4′ Preview: Mark Wahlberg’s Cade Yeager

Jun 18 2014 11:16am CDT | Source: screen rant

Apologies in advanced: This is one of those preview featurettes for Transformers: Age of Extinction that is painfully short on robots, dinosaur robots and robots riding dinosaur robots, and is instead more focused on… the human element. “Best aspect of Michael Bay’s Transformers films…” said no fan ever. We at least have the hope and potential that comes with novelty; in this new start to a new trilogy, we get new human protagonists in the form of wannabe inve ...

EMMYS: For Food Shows, It’s More Than What’s In The Kitchen

Jun 18 2014 10:53am CDT | Source: Deadline

Diane Haithman is a contributor to Deadline Hollywood Could this year’s Emmy Reality and Reality-Competition categories turn into a food fight? Perhaps more important: Should there be a law preventing a chef from wrapping zucchini around a toasted marshmallow, creating the S’More from hell (observed in a recent installment of Chopped)? The stage — or should we say table — has been set. In 2010, Bravo’s Top Chef  knocked The Amazing Race off its ...
